Carrot,cut into 1/2 inch pieces 1 mediumCauliflower florets 10-12French beans,cut into 1/2 inch pieces 15Shelled green peas 1/4 cupBasmati rice,soaked 11/2 cupOil 3 tablespoonsBay leaves 2Cloves 5 - 6Cinnamon 1 inch stickGreen cardamom 4 - 5Black cardamom 1 - 2Ginger-garlic paste 11/2 tablespoonsTurmeric powder 1 teaspoonCoriander powder 1 tablespoonRed chilli powder 1 tablespoonGreen chillies, finely chopped 2Salt to tasteYogurt 1/2 cupSaffron (kesar),Mixed in ¼ cup milk a few strandsFresh mint leaves, chopped a fewGinger,cut into thin strips 2 inch pieceDeep fried onions 1 cupGaram masala powder 1/2 teaspoonKewra essence a few drop

Method

Put rice cooker on cook mode and pour oil in it. Add bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon, green cardamoms and black cardamoms and sauté till fragrant.

Add onions and sauté. Add carrot, cauliflower and beans and sauté. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and green chillies and mix well. Add 3 cups water, drained rice and mix. Add salt and mix. Cover the cooker and let it come to a boil.

Add green peas, cover and cook. When the rice is almost done, add yogurt, saffron milk, few mint leaves, ginger strips, deep fried onions, garam masala powder and kewda water and mix lightly. Cover and seal the edges with dough. Cook till done.

Serve hot with a raita of your choice.
