BCM350N Minimum system requirements
To install BCM350 to PC, minimum system requirements are as follow.
1. CPU clock speed : 2.3 GHz
2. Memory (RAM): 4 Giga Bytes
3. Display resolution : 1024 * 768 Graphic LCD
4. Operating system : Windows XP or Window 7
5. Sound card and armored speaker
6. Ethernet adaptor or RS-232C port
Precautions on install and use BCM350N
1. When install BCM350N, a user must follow the regular install procedure. If
not, it is possible that BCM350N does not work properly.
2. Before use BCM350N, please read this manual closely. To operate some
functions what user wants, please read and follow this manual. If not, it is
possible that BCM350N does not work properly.
3. If you need a help for instruction or questions during installing or using
BCM350N, please contact Bistos Co., Ltd. or the authorized agency. Bistos
Co.,Ltd. and the authorized agency do not take responsibility for the harmful

Chapter 1 General
1.1 Instruction of BCM350N
BCM350N is an integrated program of NST(non-stress test) central monitoring
system and networking system. That is, the networking function is added to
existing NST central monitoring system. So it is possible to access to the Server
PC through the Local Area Network (LAN) and so multiple monitoring also is
possible at the same time. The concept diagram is shown as below.

The maximum number of accessible clients at the same time is limited 8 to
reduce the server overflow.
Server mode and Client mode is selectable in [Configuration] window in the
program. In the client mode operation, the server IP address should be
registered and the relevant directory (DB and Date) of the server must be
shared to enable to remote access.

The useable devices in this system are BT-300, BT-330, BT-350 and Biocare
FM-1 which are fetal monitors manufactured by Bistos Co.,Ltd.
Using PC serial port, it is possible to connect from 4 to 32 fetal monitors to this
system. Default is 8 devices in upper of [Configuration] window.
Using System Base corporation’s multi-port product named ‘Multi-8’, it is
possible to comprise wire communication (refer to Appendix 1).
Using Sena Technology corporation’s Bluetooth module named ‘MSP-1000’
and ‘Parani-SD1000’, it is possible to comprise wireless communication (refer
to Appendix 2). To comprise wireless communication, it needs to create a
virtual port in PC. To create a virtual port, it needs to install extra program. The
install method of this extra program is described in Appendix 2.

Please run BCM350N after check out there is no problem in wire or wireless
communication system.
To run the program, select as below;
‘C:\programfiles\bcm350n’ or ‘C:\programfiles(x86)\bcm350n’
When the program installation is finished, the ‘Sort cut icon’ is created in
wallpaper. If the ‘Short cut icon’ is not created, we recommend that create
‘Short cut icon’ manually and use that icon.

1.2 BCM350N installation
1. Run BCM-350N [Setup.exe].
2. Select the language for installation. (Korean / English)

3. Installation Wizard will come out. Click [Next] button.
4. Specify the path of the installed directory for BCM350N by clicking
[Browse…] button. Select a destination folder and click [Install] button. We
recommend that using the default path.

5. Please wait while the software is being installed.
If ‘Microsoft. Net Framework 3.5’ is not installed in your desktop, it is installed
automatically during the installation of BCM350N. In this case, it may take few
minutes.
6. Click [Finish] button to complete the installation. (Check the small box if
you want to start the BCM350N immediately.)

7. ‘BCM350N Short cut icon’ is created in desktop.
Run BCM350N and the initial window will be shown up.
8. The initial window is set with English. If you want to change language,
please click [Language] button on the toolbar and change language what
you want.
9. Initial network of BCM350N is ‘Server’. Change network mode to ‘Client’ as
follow.
[Setting] button -> [Configuration] window -> Check ‘Run as client’ of
Communication region -> Application restart required. -> Input Server IP
And then run BCM350 again. You can find the client mode main window.

Chapter 2 BCM350N Description
2.1 Main window

Such as [Figure 1], the main window has a toolbar. The toolbar is located in
upper region of the main window. Also, there are 8 control panels for remote
control 8 fetal monitors in the left side of the main window. And there are Patient
Information region and NST chart region on the right of the control panels.
1. Toolbar button
There are several buttons for dealing with program on the upper region of the
main window.
These buttons are listed in the below table.
Patient Registration
New patient can be registered by using the
button. If you click the button, the [Patient
Registration] window will come out.
Doctor Registration
New doctor can be registered by using the button.
If you click the button, the [Doctor Registration]
small window will come out.

Review
If you click the button, the [Review] window will
come out. You can review and print the saved
NST chart. and convert the NST chart to jpg type
of image file.
1,2,3,4,6,8 Bed If you click each of the buttons, you can see the
NST chart according to number of bed view.
Bed View setting
If you click the button, the [Multi Bed View
Setting] window will come out. You can select the
bed that you want to see at the relevant bed view
respectively.
Language
If you click this button, available languages are
lists on pop-up menu. You can change the
language by choosing one of them.
Setting
If you click the button, the [Configuration]
window will come out. You can change the
necessary setting (or configuration).
Close To terminate NST Program.
(1) Control panel
Every bed has its own control panel which is located on the left of the main
window. The below figure is an example control panel of “Bed 1”. The functions
are starting or stopping diagnosis, turning off fetal monitor, starting or stopping
print and disabling alarm.
The patient’s name will be displayed in bed button region(①). If the user clicks
this button, the relevant graph region will be shown up and the graph will be
displayed. Also, The FHR1, FHR2 and UC will be displayed in value button
region(②) in real time.
In the case of the program is connected to fetal monitor, the connection
indicator on the left of the bed button is changed to green from red. When the
program starts to receive diagnosis data, the connection indicator is blinking.
The follows are functional description of each button in control panel.

(2) Patient basic profile
In this region, patient basic information is displayed. Displaying parameters are
shown as below.

(3) NST chart region
In this region, FHR1, FHR2 and UC are displayed.
Use the scroll bar If you want to see other bed’s NST chart.

2.2 Patient registration window
Click [Patient Registration] button. Then ‘Patient Registration’ window will be
shown as below.
This window is composed of patient search region, patient information region,
guardian information region and medical information. Also the number of
registered patient is displayed.

(1) Searching existing patient.
To use this function, insert the patient’s ID or name and press ‘Enter’ key. Also
click [+] region of tree structure and search the patient directly. The tree
structure is classified between two methods, registration date and name.
(2) New patient’s basic information registration region: [New]->[OK]
To register a new patient, you can insert ID, name, SSN(Social Security number),
zip code, address, home phone number, cell phone, birthday, attending doctor
and registration date in the ‘Patient Information’ region.
Also you can insert guardian’s name, contact and relation in the ‘Guardian
Information’ region.
To register a new patient, you must insert ID and name. The other items are
optional. Then, click [OK] button to complete and save it.
(3) Medical information region :
In this region, a doctor’s comment and delivery history such as LMP, EDC, GA
and Parity information is recorded. Then, press [OK] button to complete and
save it.
※ LMP : Last Menstrual Period EDC : Estimated Day of Confinement
GA : Gestational Age Parity : The number of pregnancies
If you want to delete it, select the item of patient and click [Delete] button.
Note : Same name can be registered, but Same ID cannot be registered. (When
you try to register the patient, if there is same ID, message comes out.)

2.3 Doctor registration window
Click [Doctor Registration] button. Then ‘Doctor Registration’ window will be
shown as below.

To register a new doctor, you can insert name and telephone number and press
[Save] button. If you want to delete it, select the item and use [Delete] button.
2.4 NST Review window
To review saved data, click [Review] button. Then [Review] window will be
shown as below.

The NST Review window is composed of Direct / Tree search region, patient
information region, history region, and graph display region. Using direct or tree
search, you can search and select the patient. If the patient is selected, the
patient’s information is displayed in the patient information region. Also saved
diagnosis list is displayed in history region. When you click one item of the
diagnosis list, the relevant graph is displayed in the graph display region. In the
Print option region, you can select the range of printing. If you want to print the
test result as soon as the test is finished, you can select the relevant function
in After test print region. The printing paper size is fixed to A4.
2.5 Bed view setting window

You can select beds what you want to view at the same time in this window.
Select beds to want to see when the relevant bed view is clicked. And then click
[Save] button.
2.6 Language setup window
Click [Language] button. Then the popup menu comes out. The default
language is English. BCM350N supports English, Korean, Japanese and
Spanish. You can change another language after registering.

2.7 Setting(Configuration) window
To change the configuration, click [Setting] button. Then [Configuration]
window will be shown as below.

In this window, you can select the port to use and wave grid of graph mode.
Also you can modify the path of data base and image.
Note : You can change the path of database(DB), data, and image, but we
recommend that you hardly change them.
2.8 Close
To finish BCM350N, click [Close] button in the main window.

Chapter 3. How to use BCM350
After installing communication module and setting communication program, run
BCM 350N as follow path. <Start Programs BCM350N BCM350N > Then
the main window comes out as Figure 1. Operate BCM350N according to the
following procedure.
1. Language setting: Select the language what you want.
2. Port setting: Select the ports relevant to each bed and the monitor type.
(The baud rate is set automatically.) (See 6. 2.)
3. Register a new patient.
4. Select the bed what you want to connect in the control panel.
5. Move the mouse pointer to the graph display region and click on the right
mouse button. And then the popup menu comes out. Select [Patient Select]
item in the popup menu.
6. [Patient Basic Registration] window comes out. Then select the patient
using [Direct Search] or [Tree Search].
7. The selected patient’s name will be presented in the bed button region of
the control panel which is located in the left of the main window.
8. Click [Start] button in the control panel and start the diagnosis.
9. Click [Stop] button in the control panel and stop the diagnosis.
3.1 How to setup language
1 [Language] Click the Language setup button in the main
window.

The popup menu comes out such as left. The
present language is checked. Select the
language what you want. Default language is
English. Supporting language are Korean,
English, Japanese and Spanish. If you want to
add another language, please contact us.

3.2 How to setup communication port
1 [Setting] Click [Setting] button in the
main window.
2 Refer to [Figure 6].
The [Configuration] window
will be shown such as
[Figure 6].

Click [Serial port Setup]
button.

window comes out. Select a
bed number and select
connect serial port number.
(If the connected device to
the bed uses 1.6k protocol
such as BT-300, check
“1.6k”)
☞ When you select serial port, if the port is not connected, selectable port
may do not appears.

click [Save] button.

3.3 How to register patient basic information
1 [Patient Registration] Click [Patient Registration] button in the main
window.
2 Refer to [Figure 2]. The [Patient Registration] window will be
shown such as [Figure 2].
3 [New]
If you want to register the new patient, click
[New] button. (Button to make all of the
blanks)

(1) Input the patient’s information. To register a new patient, you must
input the patient’s ‘ID’ and ‘name’. If not, it is impossible to register a
new patient. ‘Reg. Date’ in the Patient Information region means the date
of the first registration date.
(2) When you input all information, click [OK] button.

The dialogue box comes out. Click [OK]
button. Then, new patient is added.

3.3.1 How to edit existing patient registration information

comes out. If you want to edit
and save, click [Yes] button.

completed, the dialogue box
comes out one more time.
Click [OK] button.

If you want to delete the existing patient registration information, click
[Delete] button in the [Patient Registration] window after selecting the
patient what you want.
3.4 How to assign a patient to the relevant bed.
There are three ways to assign a patient to a bed. First, click the [Assign] icon
in the control panel of left menu.
Second, move the mouse pointer to FHR grid of the graph region and click on
the right button. Then the popup menu comes out. Select <Assign Patient>.
Finally, Select a patient from [Patient Registration] window, and click [Assign
to Bed] button directly.

3.5 How to start diagnosis

Then the diagnosis starts.

signal indicator changes to green from
red. The FHR and UC are displayed.

dialogue box such like the left comes out.
To clear this box, click [OK] button.
In this case, exit program and check the
communication port setting program.
3.5.1 Display of information during diagnosis
During diagnosis, various information is displayed in the graph region window.
The meaning are as follows.

HR1 HR2 UC Diagnosis
time Functions
HR1 FHR value from Doppler 1 probe.
HR2 FHR value from Doppler 1 probe.
UC UC value from UC probe.
Note : [Save to JPG] and [Print] buttons for function appears after diagnosis
completion.
3.6 How to stop diagnosis

Click [Stop] button in the control panel.

pointer to the graph region and click on

☞ If a patient is not assigned to the bed, the following dialogue
box comes out.

3.7 How to reset bed information
If you want to disconnect a bed and patient, click this button.

In the status of the diagnosis is
stopped, click the [Reset] icon in the
control panel of left menu.

Click the bed button and move the
mouse pointer to the graph region and
click on the right button.
The popup menu comes out. Select
<Reset>.
☞
This function does not work during
diagnosis. In this case, the dialogue
box such like the left comes out. To
clear this box, click [OK] button.
3.8 How to setup bed view
When BCM350N starts, there is one bed in the graph region of the main window.
Using this button, you can setup bed view. The number of bed you can view at
the same time is 2, 3, 6 and 8. The default view is one bed view. If you want to
view several beds, you have to setup bed view first. Follow next procedure to
setup bed view.
1 [Bed View Setting] Click [Bed View Setting] button in the
main window.

Select the beds to display and click [Save] button.

If there is a checking error, If there is a
checking error, the error message window
comes out. Click [OK]. Then check the
error and re-check beds. And click [OK]
button.

If you click each of the buttons, you can
see the NST chart according to number of
bed view.
☞ If you want to see only one, double click the necessary one bed on the
multi view screen in the main display.
Follow next procedure to change the bed number in the control panel.

Click [Setting] button in the main window.
Then, The [Configuration] window will
come out.

Click [Bed Number Setting] button. And this window disappears.

The [Configuration] window will come out and you can modify the bed
number you want in the control panel. To apply the setting, click [Save]
button.
3.9 How to listen fetal heart sound
BCM350N support the hearing the real time fetal heart sound function.

Choose the bed what you want to hear
fetal heart sound and click [Sound Listen]
button in the control panel. The other
panel’s [Sound Listen] buttons are
deactivated.

To deactivate this button, click again this
button. In this case, this button is
activated like a procedure 1.
☞ In the case of the [Sound Listen] button is activated, you can hear fetal
heart sound from the device or the PC speaker.
3.10 How to control fetal monitor
3.10.1 Device Printer

When you place the mouse pointer on the NST chart, time appears. At
that time, if you double click, it is possible to enter a record of the text.
After completing the input, click the [Save] button. Then text is saved.

key after selecting diagnosis information of the patient what you want.

1. How to making connection cable
1.1 In case of connecting a fetal monitor (BT-300, BT-350 etc.) to PC
directly
You can get RS-232C cross cable in the market. Both side of
connector is D-SUB9 (Female). Or you can make a cable with the
connection information as below.
(Please secure the enough length of cable considering setting place
and distance between PC and a fetal monitor.)

1. Introduction of wireless communication system
MSP-1000 is communication device. Using this device, it is possible to
use bluetooth connection through Ethernet. Also this device supports
simultaneous access of bluetooth device. Parani-SD1000 is a Bluetooth
serial adaptor. Using MSP-100 and SD-1000, it is possible to comprise
wireless communication system.
2. Checking IP address of installing PC
2.1. Pre-installation before checking IP address
2.1. Connect a DC 5V power adapter to MSP-1000. And connect
internet LAN cable to MSP-1000 “EHT0” port. And connect MSP-1000
“ETH1” port and PC LAN port using LAN cable. Using serial cable,
connect MSP-1000 and PC.
2.2. Checking IP address
2.2.1. Run [Run] as below.

2.3. Check whether IP address is occupied or not
To install MSP-1000, you should be allowed to use IP address. If you use IP
address without checking whether that is occupied or not, it may occurs the
communication problem because of IP collision. Therefore you must check
whether IP address is occupied or not as follows.
2.3.1. In the case of IP address from a hospital is [192. 168. 131. 200].
1) Input [ping 192.168.131.200] in the MS-DOS window.
2) And then press [Enter].
3) The results are as below.
4) In the case of IP address is occupied, you can check the message like
as “Reply from 192.168.10.65: byte=32 time<1ms TTL=128”. In the case
of IP address is not occupied, you can find the message like as
“ Request timed out.”. In the case of IP is not occupied, you can use IP
from a hospital.

3. How to set MSP-1000 IP address
3.1. How to connect MSP-1000 and PC
3.1.1. Connect MSP-1000 and PC using a serial cable.
3.1.2. Run [Hyperterminal]. The path is [Start →All Programs→Accessories→
Communications→Hyper Terminal].
3.1.3. After run [Hyper Terminal], the window as below comes out.
Input name (all value is available) and click [OK].

※ If [New connection] window does not come out and [Location Information]
window comes out, follow the next procedure.

3.1.5. [COM3 Properties] window comes out. Then follow the below procedure.

address differs from IP address what you received from the hospital, input ‘2’
and press enter. Then input IP address what you received from the hospital and
press enter. You can change IP address through this step. And check items
from 3 to 6. If IP addresses are different, change IP address using the same
changing method of the item ‘2. IP address’.
3.1.10. After change MSP-1000 IP address, press [ESC] 3 times and return to
the initial window.

4.1. Set MSP-1000
4.1.1. Run Internet Explore.
4.1.2. Input IP address in the web browser and press [ENTER].
For example) Input 192.168.131.200 then the login box comes out.
4.1.3. Input ‘root’ for User ID and Password. Then the window such as below
comes out. In this window, you can find IP address and change IP
address.

according to the number of SD-1000.

4.2. How to set Port
4.2.1. Click [Network Service] and input the port number.
4.2.2. Click [Network service] and add port by clicking [Add] button.

4.2.3. In the upper window, click “Listening on 7000” and change port number.

After change the port numbers, click [Save & apply] button and save
configurations.

5. How to set SD-1000
5.1. Install SD-1000 program and configuration
5.1.1. Setup SD-1000 program.
Run Setup_sd1000_conf-v2.01.exe.
5.1.2. The below window comes out and click [Finish] button.

5.1.3. Run SD-1000 program.
5.1.4. After running SD-1000 program, check the communication status.
Connect ‘USB power cable’ to SD-1000. Then connect this cable to
PC‘USB-Port’. And connect SD-1000 to PC’s serial port. Check that
Power led is on and Connect led is blinking with green.
5.1.5. The default Baud Rate value of SD-1000 is 9600. Change the Baud Rate
to 115200 and click [OK].

5.2. How to initialize SD-1000
5.2.1. Click [Device Setting] in the main window.

6.1. Install program

6.2.2. Select COM ports according to the number of SD-1000.
We recommend that you should select COM number under 20.
6.2.3. The below window shows that the method of setting IP address and port
number when two COM ports are used. Note that you must input IP
address which is received from a hospital and Port number. (Ex. IP
address from a hospital is 192.168.10.200 and SD-1000 port numbers
are 7001~700X.)

6.3. Checking the connection status
6.3.1. Click [Configuration Wizard...] and check the connection status.
