DESCRIPTION

Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network in Alabama, from Muscle Shoals to Mobile, is now substantially complete, and to mark the milestone the company announced 4Gs, or four grants, for nonprofit organizations in the state. The support for emergency relief and domestic violence prevention efforts throughout the state total $100,000, including $10,000 each to the Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund and Ready Alabama’s Be Ready Camp. The emergency relief fund grant will support tornado recovery in the state, while the Be Ready grant will be used to expand efforts to inspire the next generation of first responders. Both of these grants came from the Verizon Foundation, which also announced it is seeking proposals from organizations offering domestic violence prevention programs for $50,000 of support.
