LAST OF THE IVY’S

Dartmouth is the last of three Ivy League opponents to visit Catamount Country this season. UVM beat Yale 79-70 on Nov. 21 then knocked off preseason favorite Harvard on Dec. 8.

EYEING AN IVY SWEEP

A win on Wednesday night would give the Catamounts an Ivy League season sweep for the third straight season and fourth time under John Becker (2012-13). The Green and Gold have a chance to complete their third non-conference season sweep after taking down the Atlantic 10 (George Washington, George Mason, and St. Bonaventure) and the Colonial Athletic Association (Towson and Northeastern).

BECKER IN NON-CONFERENCE FINALES

John Becker holds an impressive 6-1 record in non-conference finales. The only loss was during the 2014-15 campaign with a 64-57 defeat at UC- Santa Barbara. Wednesday night marks the fourth time in the last five years where the Cats will close out the non-conference slate against an Ivy League opponent.

CATS & BIG GREEN GO WAY BACK

The Cats and Big Green have the longest standing non-conference rivalry in school history at 103 games. It is the third-longest overall as Vermont has played more games against league foes New Hampshire (151 games) and Maine (140 games). UVM played its first ever game as a varsity program in Hanover on Dec. 15, 1900.

SCOUTING DARTMOUTH

• The Big Green roll into their non-conference finale with a 9-6 record, the most victories during the non-league slate since the 1975-76 campaign. • Dartmouth is one of the top three-point shooting teams in the country. The group from Hanover has buried the fourth-most triples (165), has fired the eight-most long-distance attempts (408), and owns the 11th-best three-point percentage (40.4%). • Chris Knight leads the team with 15.1 points per game, the sixth-highest scoring average in the Ivy League. He also ranks third in the conference with 7.5 rebounds per game. • Brendan Barry has added a spark to the Big Green offense with a 14.1 scoring average and a 52.6% three-point percentage. Barry’s percentage from beyond the arc is the fifth-best in the nation.

COMMON OPPONENTS ON 2018-19 DOCKET

UVM and Dartmouth have a similar 2018-19 schedule with seven common opponents. The pair played Boston U during the non-conference slate. The Cats played Harvard and Yale, who the Big Green will eventually face. On the flip side, Dartmouth has four America East wins - UAlbany twice, Maine, and UNH most recently.

WINS AMONG NEW ENG. TEAMS

UVM’s nine victories are tied for the second-most in New England with Boston College, Dartmouth, and UConn. Providence leads the way with 10 wins. Wednesday night’s tilt has 18 combined victories, the most between the two programs in any meeting.
