Proof Rolling Has Begun!

With little precipitation allowing the ground to stay dry, site

work continues to keep a great pace. That pace has now

brought us to the point that asphalt preparation is nearly

complete on site and proof rolling has began. A “proof

roll” is completed on all areas to be paved with asphalt. To

complete a proof roll, a fully loaded dump truck weighing

approximately 70,000 lbs is slowly driven over the prepared

subgrade. The subgrade is then inspected for deflection or

rutting from the weight of the truck. Any areas found to be

deflecting or rutting are then repaired prior to paving.

Coming up in the weeks ahead we will see the first asphalt

be placed on the track. At the same time, the excavation of

the tennis courts will continue and the water main to the

baseball fields will be installed. Also, the

final piece of site wood of the project will be

installed at the community pool reception desk!

The Past Week:

• Competition Pool Final Fill

• Proof Rolling & Layout of the Track

• Ceilings and Shared Lights in Music

• Completion of Polished Concrete

Coming Up in the Weeks Ahead:

The picture above is the now plastered and final filled competition pool awaiting bleacher installation. The

below image contains a newly poured stretch of sidewalk just outside the competition pool. Below and to the right sits a picture of one of the shared lights to a music room. Notice the two pains of glass with vibration dampening seals around the frame in order to prevent the transfer of sound. Lastly, the image above and to the right shows one of the music corridors ready for final cleaning!
