Offered in a wide range ofconfigurations, construction andmaterials, Flowserve VTP pumpsare typically installed in a wet pitor deep well where NPSH avail-able is usually not a problem.When a wet well is not availableor there is insufficient NPSHavailable, the VTP pump with lowNPSH impellers can be mountedin a suction barrel or can, whichserves as the holding vessel forthe liquid.

The Flowserve vertical turbinepump is a diffuser type, singleor multiple stage, heavy dutypump designed for continuousduty in a variety of wet pit anddeep well applications. Itsextraordinarily broad hydrauliccoverage is well complementedby its versatility.

Discharge Head with ASMEClass 125 or 250 flat face flangeprovides a smooth transition of thepumped liquid into the dischargepiping. It also functions as amounting base for the driver
Prelubrication Connection allowsconnection to an external lubricationsource for deep set pumps
Discharge Case with hydraulicadapter ensures efficient transfer offlow to various column sizes
Impellers, Enclosed and Semi-opendesigned for maximum coverage ofall applications
Lock Collet provides an interferencefit between the bowl shaft andimpeller to hold the impeller securelyin place. Keyed impellers are standardfor 500 m (20 in) and larger modelsand optional on other sizes
Suction Bell is designed to provideefficient flow of the liquid into theeye of the first stage impeller. Asuction case is provided for wellpump applications
Basket Strainer prevents unwanteddebris from getting into the pump. Itis designed to exceed HydraulicsInstitute parameters. Cone strainersare provided for deepwellinstallations
Vertical Hollow Shaft Motorallows the pump headshaftto extend through the motorand provides impeller clear-ance adjustment with anadjusting nut located at thetop of the motor. A two-pieceheadshaft with a motor standis available when overheadclearance is inadequate toremove the motor
Vertical Solid Shaft Motorsupplied by customerrequest to provide superiorshaft support for mechanicalseal applications
High Pressure Stuffing Boxfor working pressures up to20 bar (300 psi). Otherstuffing box options are also available
Open Lineshaft Constructionallows the lineshaft bearingsto be lubricated by thepumped liquid
Column Pipe availableflanged as shown or threadedto minimize well pump casing diameter
Bowl Bearings with highlength to diameter ratio oneither side of the impellerprovide rigid support for thebowl shaft
Bearing Bracket withRubber Lineshaft Bearingfits integrally between thecolumn sections to maintainalignment and is spaced toprovide adequate shaft support. Alternate bearingmaterials available to suitapplication
Wear Rings, available asan option for enclosedimpellers only, provide amethod to renew clearancesand pump efficiency

Enclosed Oil Lubrication isolatesthe lineshaft and bearings fromthe pumped liquid minimizingmaintenance in abrasive services.Alternative lubricants such as cleanwater or grease can also be usedwith enclosed lineshaft construction
Heavy Duty Discharge Head withASME Class 150, 300, or 600 raisedface flange provides a rigid and stable support for high horsepowerdrivers. The mitred elbow reducesthe internal friction loss and reduces turbulence in the discharge head. Cast iron discharge heads are available up to500 mm (20 in) discharge
Rigid Adjustable Coupling providesaccurate impeller clearance adjust-ment and overall shafting stability
Tension Bearing holds the enclosingtube and lineshaft bearings in align-ment. It also provides a chamberfor the lubricant as it enters theenclosing tube
Separate Steel Soleplate allowsgrouting and leveling of the pumpdischarge head without permanentlyanchoring the head. The pump canbe removed for service withoutdisturbing the grout
Flanged Column Pipe contains thepressure being generated by thepump and has a rabbet fit betweenthe flanges to maintain alignment
Keyed Impellers positively lockedto the shaft eliminate shaft toimpeller movement. Stainless steelslotted keys prevent radial movementwhile the stainless steel split-ringkeys prevent axial movement. Colletmounted impellers are standard forimpellers up to 460 mm (18 in),with keyed impellers as an option
Enclosed Impeller provides closerunning clearance between the bowlto maintain efficiency over a broadoperating range. Full range of semi-open impellers are available for particular applications
Alignment Screws allow positioningof the larger frame size motor onthe discharge head for final align-ment of the pump and motor shafts
Polished Steel Lineshaft, inAISI C-1045 for maximumstrength and reliablility,transmits the torque fromthe motor to the bowl shaftand impeller. Other shaftmaterials are provided tosuit application
Enclosing Tube Stabilizeris integrally welded to thecolumn pipe to maintain therigidity and alignment of theenclosing tube. Rubber stabilizer for up to 355 mm(14 in) column size andsteel stabilizer for 400 mm(16 in) and larger
Enclosing Tube provideslineshaft protection from thepumped liquid. The lineshaftbearings are spaced at 1.5 m(5 ft) intervals to supportthe lineshaft
Keyed Lineshaft Couplingpositively locks the sectionsof shafting together. This isoptional for all pump sizes.Threaded coupling is avail-able up to 65 mm (2.5 in)lineshaft
Discharge Case withBypass Port allows positiveflow of the lubricant into theenclosing tube to lubricatethe lineshaft bearings
