Very informal Dear Mr Coyle, Thanks for the email re the hassles you've been having with our sales team. I'm sorry to hear how badly they messed up your order. I've looked into it and it seems they got mixed up because lots of staff went off sick. I completely get why you're so ticked off by this – if there was any doubt about your order they should have checked it out before despatching your goods. They also should have called you back after you rang to find out what was happening with your order. Not doing that was totally unforgivable but it won't happen again. As you said in your email, it's only natural you'd think about dropping us as a supplier after this but I hope you'll think it over first. You're an amazing customer and we really want you to know you can count on us to get things right first time. I've asked our customer relations office to put together an offer that so that we can sort this out. I know you've been hanging on for a long time but I'll try to sort this out ASAP.
