MPI ADVENTUREMPI Adventure is a state-of-the-art offshore installation vessel.
Designed to transport, lift, install and decommission components such as foundations, wind turbines, met masts and transformer stations, she is one of the world’s most proven installation vessels in terms of jacking speed, deck space, lifting capacity, accommodation facilities and positioning capabilities (DP2).
Key features on the 2011-built MPI Adventure include a 1,000-tonne main crane, a 50-tonne auxiliary crane, maximum operating depth of 40 metres*, 3,600m2 deck space, accommodation capacity for up to 112 persons and jacking ability with up to 6,000 tonnes of cargo.
Supported by first-class engineering, project management, exacting quality-control and safety standards, MPI Adventure delivers bespoke optimum installation solutions.
OPERATING CAPABILITIESJACKING SYSTEMConversion of MPI Adventure from vessel to stable working platform is achieved quickly and efficiently using two class-proven technologies:
• The Kongsberg dynamic positioning system allows the vessel to be manoeuvred into position.• The 48 hydraulic cylinders allow the vessel to be jacked clear of the water at a rate of 1.00 metre/minute.
ACCOMMODATIONMPI Adventure provides excellent accommodation and rest-and-relaxation facilities for up to 81 client personnel, in addition to her regular crew.
CRANES & CURVESBoth cranes on MPI Adventure are of an offshore design capable of operating in wind speeds up to 21 metres/second.
The 1,000-tonne crane is capable of installing wind turbine components to a height in excess of 100 metres above the main deck.
By utilising a combination of the main-crane hoist and the two crane-mounted tugger winches, lifting operations can be optimised. MPI Adventure’s crane is capable of operating well beyond the design parameters laid out in offshore turbine erection procedures.
