Hello everyone! Welcome back to a brand new

academic year. I am confident that everyone received

a most deserving break during the summer, and that

everyone had a safe and enjoyable summer break. A

vast and tremendous shout out to our new student

veterans/dependents this fall. There are 125 new

student veterans/dependents this fall using their VA

educational benefits. On behalf of the CBU veterans’

community, we all welcome each and every one of

you to Lancer nation.

As we welcome our newest Lancers on campus, we

also have to bid farewell to our recent summer

graduates. Twenty student veterans/dependents

received their Bachelors and Master’s degree this

summer. Names and their respective disciplines are

featured in this month’s newsletter. With these newest

graduates, a total of seventy-nine student

veterans/dependents graduated during the 2018-2019

academic year. Congratulations to all!

Television network CBS has invited again CBU

student veterans to attend the taping of the “The Price

is Right” Veterans Day special on 15 September 2019.

Fifteen student veterans attended the taping. Although

none of them were called on stage, all of them

received a consolation prize.

The month of September is a busy month. With the

start of the school year, moving into your new

dorm/apartment, meeting your new professors and

classmates, is just the start. Stay tuned for all the

events happening on campus this semester. Just to

name a few: club fair, parent day and homecoming

weekend, Veterans Day, and a lot more.

Shout out to the US Air Force on their 72nd birthday

on 18 September 2019. To celebrate this monumental

occasion, the VRC invited the CBU

veterans/dependents community. Traditionally, the

most senior and junior member of the branch cuts the

official cake. Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Smith,

Commander of the US Air Force ROTC at California

State University San Bernardino, and Dean Barnett,

Air Force Veteran and an Aerospace Engineer major,

served as the senior and junior member.

Priority registration for traditional undergraduate

students is coming. I will send out the dates once it

becomes official.
