More details about the experiment: The Voltage is varied using a knob on the feeder and read on the oscilloscope, for e.g 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150 mV. The time it takes a magnet to travel from one point to another on the feeder is noted with the distance kept constant. (Time and voltage varied). Three columns are required viz: time, acceleration and the number of magnets that fall from the exit. The graph of acceleration vs time will be plotted to obtain the change in velocity (area under the graph). Please, note that the machine is calibrated such that 100 mV = 10 m/s 2 .
