Vice Chancellor’s Message
It gives me a great pleasure to serve as the first Vice Chancellor of this newly established FATA University. After assuming the charge as a Vice Chancellor, I made strong commitment that I will leave no stone unturned in paving the foundation of this university on strong footage. This can only be possible if I was succeeded in having a team of devoted, intellectual, talented and competent faculty and staff. I would, therefore, welcome everyone who is committed to support me in this cause. I will try my best to attract and retain outstanding faculty and staff to serve this university to their best. As a vice Chancellor, I am deeply committed to provide our students with the finest education and a supportive learning environment. The university has been established with an objective to impart higher quality and technical education to the Pakistani students without giving any consideration to sex, religion, creed, cast, race, class, color and domicile. In compliance with the objectives of the FATA University Regulations 2013, due to its infancy and limited space some traditional and professional courses are being offered initially at the Government Degree College, Darra Adem Khel, Kohat. However, with the development of our own campus at Darra Adem Khel with an impressive infrastructure, I am determined to introduce more new and innovative courses with the support of dedicated and dynamic teachers. In order to provide the quality higher education facilities to the students of FATA at their door steps, the establishment of Sub-Campuses of FATA University at all the agencies are also planned in future. I am confident that in the next decade or so, surmounting all sorts of hurdles, it will be the first and sole university in FATA, which will be grown into a dynamic degree awarding institution engaged itself in capacity building, in terms of infrastructure and human resource development. I am striving to make the FATA University a model educational institute where the students will have quality education and training that will open new avenues for the betterment of their future. It is hoped that the FATA University will attract the students from all the agencies of FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and also from the other provinces of the country. My dreams can come true, if the intelligentsia of the country come forward and joins hand with us in making this university an institution where the advance level quality education and research flourish and where the fruit of knowledge resonate through the society.

Introduction
To familiarize students with needs of the modern world it was deemed necessary to start the
Computer Science Department at FATA University. With the induction of a highly qualified
faculty coupled with the start-up of a new computer laboratory at the FATA University, this
feat was achieved. The students would acquire sufficient fundamental knowledge to adopt
quickly to the changes that are occurring and will continue to occur during their professional careers. The program involves analysis,
development and implementation of mathematical algorithms to solve computational problems, understanding computer electronics,
study of operating systems, languages, compilers, data communication and networks, solving complex computing problems, designing
man-to-machine interfaces, security, mobile computing and so on.

Department of English
English serves as the official language of Pakistan. Its significance can be gauged by the fact that
it is a compulsory subject in almost every subject that is taught at the BS level. Its importance
also lies in the fact that a sound understanding of English can benefit students in every walk of
life be it personal or professional. However, the understanding of this subject especially in its
reading and writing domain has not been of the quality one would desire in an intermediate
student in FATA. Thus to fill this gap, the starting of English Department at the FATA University
was considered a necessity.
Mission
29
To encourage students to converse in English and foster an environment where it becomes the lingua franca of the university
Objectives
1) To design a course that can help the students of English in improving their reading, writing and listening capabilities.
