5. NAHUEL - Closely matched with Saphirius, Dee Blere and King Jade on their latest outing at Chantilly last month. Still relatively unexposed and can be in the mix again today

6. FIGEAC - Three wins in claimers from five starts and second to Motivaroom in a Class 2 race at Salon-Provence last time out. Could run well at a decent price

9. MADYLANE - Won a Class 2 race in a close finish from Ecole D'Art at Les Sables last time out. That was her first start this year and she makes her handicap debut today

10. MILREIS - A neck behind Figeac when third to Motivaroom in a Class 2 race at Salon-Provence last time out. Looks well handicapped here and has solid place prospects

11. CROSS WITS - Second of four to Sailing Lady in a Class 2 race at Lyon Parilly last month. Two wins from five starts but plenty to do here on his handicap debut

12. BORDER CITY - Raised 4 Kg for winning a handicap at Toulouse in April. A couple of decent efforts since then but may need to drop a few more kilos

Summary (4) NOOTKA SOUND showed plenty of early speed before fading when getting caught for room at Ascot last month. At what could be decent odds the American raider gets a tentative vote here. (3) RIMINI and (2) MISTER FIVE EUROS showed plenty of potential when winning on their debuts and cannot be ruled out. (1) HADDAF is next best.

7. ALMOST HEAVEN - A little ability in three outings and may need even further in time

8. LAKE'S MAKER - One win to his name and runner up in last two so is at least in form for Guyon

9. TROIS ROSES - Improved form to win a claimer at Clairefontaine last time which was a bit of a shock

10. RHODALIA - Better effort last time when third but even more required now

11. EGESTA - One win from seven and handicapper has her just about right it seems

12. MIRLO BLANCO - Did better when runner up at Tarbes last time on handicap debut so merits respect

13. BLUE MONTY - Best effort of three was when close third at Aix-Les-Bains last time

Summary A few of these at the top of the market with the big jockeys up may create a bigger than normal return price for (12) MIRLO BLANCO who shaped extremely promisingly on handicap debut at Tarbes last time and he makes a fair bit of appeal here. (1) GENTLE MAN and (6) SOUVIGNE will of course be on the premises at the death as might (8) LAKE'S MAKER.

8. LAGORA - One win and consistent in five outings and a must for shortlist

9. THE GREAT - Must improve on the basis of three runs thus far to have a chance

10. SOUL TRAOU LAND - Fifth on debut at Dax and needs to do a lot better to go close

11. SUZANNEDOR - Just the two average runs to her name and is marked as needs to improve

12. FORTUNE CARREE - Well beaten third on debut and did not go forward for that next time

13. CHERRY LIPS - A winner in Rome from three runs and decent first effort in this country when just behind Vadlana

14. EVER LOVE - Not much to shout about in three runs and must do a whole lot better

Summary A very big field for this two year old claimer but only a few seem to have any chance at all such is the dearth of talent on view. A bit of a flyer is taken on the Italian winner (13) CHERRY LIPS who ran well when just behind (5) VADLANA

on her French debut and can turn round the form. (1) PALYA is the other big player and likely favourite. (8) LAGORA and (17) OUNA need looking at too.

Summary (4) QATAR CUP is the selection here and a pretty confident one at that based on a more than satisfactory debut effort at Toulouse last month when an eyecatching runner up to Mission Impassible. That form stands out in the context of this race. (3) MOISSON PRECOCE and (1) CROTH can scrap for the silver medal with (2) MARTHA JANE following those.

6. CYBELE DU CORTA - Enjoying a decent run under the saddle this term but is no slouch under harness and from the front line can give this a good go

7. CHANCEUSE WILLIAM - Moderate sort that has just once made the frame this year and can expect to find this a stiff test

8. CENDREE DARCHE - Beginning to show improvement. Enjoys a good association with her driver and will have her supporters

9. CAVIGA DU RIB - One of the least productive elements in the race and will have nothing to give

10. CLEOPATRE DU PAOU - Gives a respectable account for the most part. Has a decent entry on the first line but no more than a minor place chance

11. CHACHA DE GONTIER - Occasionally delicate but has won three from five this term and with stride in check can play a leading role

12. CATARINA DE MARZY - Has never once made any impact under harness and can be confidently written off

13. CORALIE DU SOIR - Looked very ordinary on both return starts last month and unlikely to shake things up

14. COLOMBIA D'OYSE - Third start back since her layoff and with shoes off for

the occasion should not be far off the mark

15. CALDA DU VIVIER - Very consistent mare that has been on cracking form this season. Has an excellent entry and should logically impose

Summary (15) CALDA DU VIVIER has enjoyed a very rewarding season so far and although starting on the second row she looks the one to beat. That said, with three wins from her last five (11) CHACHA DE GONTIER should be able to give her a run for her money provided she can keep her action together. (14) COLOMBIA D'OYSE should be fully fit by now and with shoes off for the occasion can go close, however she will need to keep a watchful eye on the in-form who can make a big impact if her form transitions under harness.

5. CALIFE DU CALICE - Useful sort but not always the most reliable. Returns from a two-months layoff but still worth a small consideration

6. CAMARO DE LIMERAY - Blows hot and cold. Looked very ordinary in both starts this season but still not to be entirely overlooked

7. CHARME KERYVON - Decent type that has endured an interrupted career. Makes his first appearance for 14 months and will need the run

8. CAID DU LUPIN - Frequently shows a lack of discipline but is not without merit and can get a look in

9. CASH DES ANGLES - Has made no impact on the track so far this year and can confidently disregarded

10. CARAMEL D'ECHAL - Sanctioned almost as often as not but pleased on just his second start back and will be worth a small consideration

11. CKENOBY PONCELET - Form has regressed since his seasonal debut and is unlikely to shake things up

12. CHEF DU TRESOR - Has demonstrated very good consistency this term and although racing fully shod can still finish in the money

13. CESAR LERWEN - Complicated but is proven at this level of competition and if applied can make the first five

14. CANADIAN LOVE - Good sort at this level. Will be race-fit by now and can impose with J-Ph Monclin at the helm

15. CESSILAC - Seldom disappoints when going unshod behind. Well in at the prizemoney threshold and on current form looks a solid place chance

Summary After two return starts (14) CANADIAN LOVE should be at peak fitness and is expected to return to his competitive ways. He can nonetheless expect some opposition from the delicate (4) COLT TUILERIE who starts with a 25m

5. DOCK SUR - Blows hot and cold but is not without merit. Incurs the penalty and little chance of making his presence felt

6. DERBY SPEED - Has previously shown some aptitude for this branch of the game and considering the opposition should not be far off the mark

7. DIABLO DE CAPONET - Back in the game following the layoff. Acquitted himself well at Nantes earlier in the month and can finish in the money

8. DJANGO DU BANNEY - Won first time under harness this season but form currently heading in the wrong direction and must reaffirm

9. DIAMOND CHARM - Has shown a different side to himself over the past month. Winner of his last two and is not incapable of achieving the hat-trick

10. DIALETTO - Useful type that has not been at his best this season but caught the eye at Saint-Brieuc last time and can confirm with Eric Raffin. Place chance

11. DRUSS DE GUEZ - Just one blip from four over the past two months. Pleased at Saint-Galmier early July and should have the measure of most here

Summary (11) DRUSS DE GUEZ has just scraped his way into this race and considering current form must be considered the leading contender. (9) DIAMOND CHARM however has won his last two and the three-timer is not beyond his reach. (10) DIALETTO reassured last time out and looks a promising place prospect. (6) DERBY SPEED is something of a gamble but a spot in the money is not out of the question if he can reproduce his earlier form.

8. DAISY DE LA VALLEE - Respectable filly in the provinces. Encouraged earlier in the month but still has more to find

9. DEESSE ELICIA - Nothing to like on her formsheet for a considerable period. First start for three months and offers little hope

10. DIVA DU CHERISAY - Came close at Enghien mid-June before confirming at Cabourg and must be considered a priority. Claim

11. DALIE DU CITRUS - Just once out of the first 3 to date. Gave a fine account at Mauquenchy last time and should again figure prominently

Summary After leaving her mark at Enghien last month (10) DIVA DU CHERISAY gave a very good account at Cabourg two weeks ago and although on the back line can bring home the bacon. She can still count on resistance though from (11) DALIE DU CITRUS who has climbed the class ladder in good order. (4) DYNAMITE MARCEAUX is very complicated but undeniably capable and the Bazire touch could prove key to her redemption. (2) DORIMENE also breaks from the front and despite returning from a long absence is not without a respectable place chance.

4. URGOS DU CEDRE - Has failed to make the first three for the past 16 months and can be written off

5. COEUR BAROQUE - Not always the most reliable but is proven at this level. Incurs no penalty and looks to have a lot to offer

6. AERO KING - Useful but delicate. Makes his seasonal comeback after a five-months break and will have nothing to offer

7. ARTHURO BOY - Faithful sort that encouraged last time out. Is confirmed at this level and is not incapable of finishing in the money

8. ATTACUS - Hardy trotter that consistently gives his best. Not once out of the first three this year and although stepping up in class breaks from the front line and can make a big impact

9. SUPER ARIEL - Has raced respectably for much of the year. Not as effective in her last two but can still make the first five

15. UPPERCUT DE MANCHE - Fine dual-purpose trotter that makes his first appearance since November 2015 and is sure to need the run

16. AUBRION DU GERS - Exceptionally consistent and talented sort that flew up at Vichy earlier in the month and difficult to see him being beaten

17. BIRD PARKER - High-class type that is seldom far from the action. Finished

second to Aubrion Du Gers at Caen last time out and should again figure prominently

8. EMILIANO - Won on debut last month and acquitted himself particularly well despite being disqualified at Vichy a fortnight back. With application he should trot off with the silverware

9. EURO FRAZEEN - Moderate type that has not finished outside of the first five when applied and should again acquit himself respectably

Summary The talented (8) EMILIANO was unfortunate to break stride at Vichy last time and if behaved on this occasion he should prove the one to beat. (5) EOLIEN DE CHENU however is no slouch and a repeat of his Saint-Malo performance should see him again go close. With Eric Raffin in charge this time (4) ETAIN DE VIVOIN can be assured a competitive drive and looks good enough to make the frame.
