12. ROUSSEAU - Has not won for over three years and likely to find a few too good today

Summary (3) MONTESQUIEU is dropped in class here and after a three month break the Class D handicap handicap winner at Saint-Cloud in April gets the vote in a competitive claimer. (1) COSMIC CITY has been in great form and cannot be ruled out going for three wins in a row. (2) SEISMOS and (5) TOP BY COCOONING are next best.

Selections

(3) MONTESQUIEU - (1) COSMIC CITY - (2) SEISMOS - (5) TOP BY

COCOONING

Race 2 1. PACHADARGENT - Has won three claimers and a handicap already this year and not without a chance today

2. DJOKO - Disappointing at Deauville earlier this month but is capable in this company

3. MUNGUS - A winner in Germany and France but needs to improve from his latest effort at Nantes

4. GREY SENSATION - A good third in a Class D handicap at Compiegne ten days ago. Could run in to a place

5. ESKALIBUR - One win from three starts in Germany. Hard to recommend here on his French debut

7. SKYLINE RUNNER - One win from nine starts in the Czech Republic and makes his French debut today

8. PARAGGI - Has not been in great form this year and needs to improve to feature here

9. KORINNA - Well beaten in a Class D handicap at Chantilly this month but not without a chance if at her best

Summary (1) PACHADARGENT had won four in a row before finishing second to Against Rules in a Class E claimer at Maisons-Laffitte earlier this month. He is a course and distance winner here and gets a tentative vote ahead of (6) SILENTIUM who is dropped in class here and cannot be ruled out. (4) GREY SENSATION and (9) KORINNA are next best.

Selections

(1) PACHADARGENT - (6) SILENTIUM - (4) GREY SENSATION - (9)

KORINNA

Race 3 1. JUST A FORMALITY - Fifth of seven behind Rip in a Class 1 race at Salon-Provence last month. Some good form in Listed races but may need to drop a few more kilos

2. PIQUIRI - Second to Lady Montodre in a maiden race at Saint-Cloud last month. Looks reasonably well treated here on her handicap debut and must be respected

3. SAPHIRIUS - Raised 7 Kg after winning handicaps at Lyon Parilly and Saint-Cloud in May. Another solid effort when a close third at Chantilly last month and not ruled out here

4. DEE BLERE - Just a short head behind Saphirius when fourth to Soliel D'Octobre in a handicap at Chantilly last month. Not without a chance here today

5. NAHUEL - Closely matched with Saphirius, Dee Blere and King Jade on their latest outing at Chantilly last month. Still relatively unexposed and can be in the mix again today

6. FIGEAC - Three wins in claimers from five starts and second to Motivaroom in a Class 2 race at Salon-Provence last time out. Could run well at a decent price

7. QUAI DE JEMMAPES - Well beaten sixth behind Yaabalady in a Class 2 race at Deauville last time out. Might find a few too good here on his handicap debut

8. BLUE ILLUSION - Gets a 4 Kg penalty today for her win in a handicap at Maisons-Laffitte last month. That looks harsh enough and she faces a tough task here today

9. MADYLANE - Won a Class 2 race in a close finish from Ecole D'Art at Les Sables last time out. That was her first start this year and she makes her handicap debut today

10. MILREIS - A neck behind Figeac when third to Motivaroom in a Class 2 race at Salon-Provence last time out. Looks well handicapped here and has solid place prospects

11. CROSS WITS - Second of four to Sailing Lady in a Class 2 race at Lyon Parilly last month. Two wins from five starts but plenty to do here on his handicap debut

12. BORDER CITY - Raised 4 Kg for winning a handicap at Toulouse in April. A couple of decent efforts since then but may need to drop a few more kilos

13. KING JADE - A close fifth to Soliel D'Octobre in a handicap at Chantilly last month. Closely matched with a few of these on that form and a leading player

14. GODERVILLE - Gets a 4 Kg penalty today for her win in a handicap at Clairefontaine last month. She won with a bit to spare then and could still be a step ahead of the handicapper

15. CERTALDO - Second in a Class D race in Switzerland last time out. Won a maiden at Tarbes in April but hard to recommend on his handicap debut

16. PAUL'S SAGA - Well beaten fourth of six behind Aim True in a Class 2 race at Saint-Cloud last month. Looks well handicapped here but likely to find a few too good

Summary Second to Lady Montdore in a maiden race at Saint-Cloud last month (2) PIQUIRI looks well treated here on her handicap debut. The winner has since finished second in a Listed race. She gets the vote ahead of (13) KING JADE and (5) NAHUEL who cannot be ruled out after their latest outing at Chantilly and have scope for improvement. (3) SAPHIRIUS and (4) DEE BLERE are two more for the short list.

Selections

(2) PIQUIRI - (13) KING JADE - (5) NAHUEL - (3) SAPHIRIUS - (4) DEE

BLERE - (14) GODERVILLE - (8) BLUE ILLUSION - (10) MILREIS

4. PANDO - Has won three claimers in a row but this is a step up in class here today

5. BAG RAIDER - Got off the mark when winning at Aix-Les-Bains last month. Faces better opposition today

6. CASHBAG - Won a maiden race at Hyeres last month. Will need to improve again to feature here

7. FRUIT SPIRIT - Had his first career success in a maiden at Croise-Laroche last month. More needed here

8. KUHAILA - Has not run since March when winning a maiden at Toulouse. May need the run today

9. CALAYANA - Comfortable winner of a maiden on her debut at Le Pin Au Haras in May. Interesting here

10. NOBLE CLIFFS - Unplaced in both of his starts on French soil and others preferred here today

Summary (1) ISIDOR BONHEUR YES had six and a half lengths back to the third when second to Araaja in a Class 1 race at Toulouse last month. Araaja franked that form when winning a Listed race here on Monday. (3) FLAME OF FAME was impressive on her debut at Compiegne last month and looks the main danger to the selection. (9) CALAYANA and (4) PANDO are next best.

Selections

(1) ISIDOR BONHEUR YES - (3) FLAME OF FAME - (9) CALAYANA - (4)

PANDO

Race 5 1. HADDAF - Got off the mark when winning at Newcastle earlier month and not without a chance here

3. RIMINI - Won by an easy two lengths on his debut at La Teste Buch last month and not ruled out today

4. NOOTKA SOUND - Disappointing at Ascot last month after winning on her debut at Keenland in April. Interesting on her French debut

5. BEAUTIFUL DESTINY - Won a Class 2 race at Chateaubriant eight days ago but faces a stiffer test today

6. RIOTICISM - Outclassed in a Group Two at Ascot last month but had some decent form before that

7. DOUBLE VARIANCE - Fifth of eight to Contortioniste in a Class 1 race at Deauville this month. Needs to improve on that

8. KENTISH WALTZ - Two wins from three starts including a Class 1 race at Maisons-Laffitte last month

9. EVABIENCHOPE - Won a newcomers race on her debut at Saint-Cloud in March. Steps up in class here

Summary (4) NOOTKA SOUND showed plenty of early speed before fading when getting caught for room at Ascot last month. At what could be decent odds the American raider gets a tentative vote here. (3) RIMINI and (2) MISTER FIVE EUROS showed plenty of potential when winning on their debuts and cannot be ruled out. (1) HADDAF is next best.

Selections

(4) NOOTKA SOUND - (3) RIMINI - (2) MISTER FIVE EUROS - (1) HADDAF

Race 6 1. GENTLE MAN - Running well with one win from six and Boudot is in the plate

2. MON MONDE - Off the mark on his last start at Lyon-Parilly and has to be considered

3. AKABA - Finished third on her last two starts of three so going the right way

4. KENMARIA - She is consistent with one win from five but still a tall order here

5. NINIAN DES AIGLES - Dual winner from eighteen but looking very exposed nowadays

6. SOUVIGNE - Off the mark on seventh and latest start at Lyon-Parilly and Soumillon is steering

7. ALMOST HEAVEN - A little ability in three outings and may need even further in time

8. LAKE'S MAKER - One win to his name and runner up in last two so is at least in form for Guyon

9. TROIS ROSES - Improved form to win a claimer at Clairefontaine last time which was a bit of a shock

10. RHODALIA - Better effort last time when third but even more required now

11. EGESTA - One win from seven and handicapper has her just about right it seems

12. MIRLO BLANCO - Did better when runner up at Tarbes last time on handicap debut so merits respect

13. BLUE MONTY - Best effort of three was when close third at Aix-Les-Bains last time

Summary A few of these at the top of the market with the big jockeys up may create a bigger than normal return price for (12) MIRLO BLANCO who shaped extremely promisingly on handicap debut at Tarbes last time and he makes a fair bit of appeal here. (1) GENTLE MAN and (6) SOUVIGNE will of course be on the premises at the death as might (8) LAKE'S MAKER.

Selections

(12) MIRLO BLANCO - (1) GENTLE MAN - (6) SOUVIGNE - (8) LAKE'S

MAKER

Race 7 1. PALYA - One win from seven and has to be looked at seriously today

2. JASMINE A LA PLAGE - Placed in two of her five but this looks way too hard for her

3. LUCIBELL - One place from five but a longer distance may suit in time

4. ANGEVINE - Eighth on sole start and would need to improve a great deal

5. VADLANA - Still a maiden but has placed a lot lately and a surefire contender

6. JUGEOTTE - Not too much promise in three starts and therefore ruled out

7. GREATY LION - A newcomer by Pedro The Great and this a lowly starting point

8. LAGORA - One win and consistent in five outings and a must for shortlist

9. THE GREAT - Must improve on the basis of three runs thus far to have a chance

10. SOUL TRAOU LAND - Fifth on debut at Dax and needs to do a lot better to go close

11. SUZANNEDOR - Just the two average runs to her name and is marked as needs to improve

12. FORTUNE CARREE - Well beaten third on debut and did not go forward for that next time

13. CHERRY LIPS - A winner in Rome from three runs and decent first effort in this country when just behind Vadlana

14. EVER LOVE - Not much to shout about in three runs and must do a whole lot better

15. ORMIXA - Two runner up spots from seven runs but is not progressing

16. AUGURI PYLA - Only a modicum of talent shown in four runs and easily left out

17. OUNA - Achieved a bit more on last of three outings so there might be more to come

18. REBEL DREAM - Must do better than her six runs so far to have any hope

Summary A very big field for this two year old claimer but only a few seem to have any chance at all such is the dearth of talent on view. A bit of a flyer is taken on the Italian winner (13) CHERRY LIPS who ran well when just behind (5) VADLANA

on her French debut and can turn round the form. (1) PALYA is the other big player and likely favourite. (8) LAGORA and (17) OUNA need looking at too.

Selections

(13) CHERRY LIPS - (5) VADLANA - (1) PALYA - (8) LAGORA - (17) OUNA

Race 8 1. ATLANTIDE - Dual winner from thirteen but in poor form so far this term

2. BERET - Only one win from twenty nine and will do well to add another here

3. END OF STORY - Five time winner from thirty three but poor the last few times

4. FULL TALENT - Still a maiden after six but there was a few signs of life in those

5. SEASON OF SAINTS - Remains a maiden after fourteen and mark seems on the high side

6. MESONERA - Triple winner from twenty seven but it seems to be going all wrong

7. BLACK PRINCESS - Four time winner from forty and certainly not ruled out here

8. SPIRIT OF TEOFILO - Seven times a winner including two runs back at Amiens

9. FLICKA'S BOY - Dual winner from forty but last two runs are poor to be fair

10. BROMLEY CROSS - Is zero from twenty four and could stay that way in all probability

11. ASSOUFID - Just the one win from sixteen and may need more help from the assessor

12. ROYAL SUN - Four time winner from twenty four but looks to be running out of form

13. KMON SPORT - Yet to win from seventeen but good runner up at Salon Provence last time out

14. ORIENT EXTREME - Triple winner from twenty seven but horribly out of form right now

15. BOYWAY CERISY - Six time winner who ran well to be third at Salon Provence last time out

16. MIRASOL - One win from seventeen but continues to slide down the ratings

17. PETITE SLICKLY - One win from fifteen but ever decreasing mark tell's it's own story

18. PRINCE DE PERSE - Four time winner from seventy one but hard to build a case for

Summary

A mammoth card to solve for punters on their way home for the supper but it might be steak instead of bread if (7) BLACK PRINCESS can get the job done at what should be rewarding odds. She is no good thing but is running to a decent level of late. (13) KMON SPORT remains a maiden but maybe not for long more. (15) BOYWAY CERISY and (4) FULL TALENT have chances of sorts as does (2) BERET.

Selections

(7) BLACK PRINCESS - (13) KMON SPORT - (15) BOYWAY CERISY - (4)

FULL TALENT - (2) BERET

Race 1 1. DAHESS D'ARABIE - Fifth of eight behind Al Chammy at Toulouse last month. Place prospects today

2. HARRAB - A promising debut at Toulouse in April but slightly disappointing in his two starts since then

3. SCHEHERAZADE AL MAURY - Won by three lengths on her debut at Pompadour earlier this month. Must be respected here

4. WADEEAA - A comfortable on her debut at La Teste Buch earlier this month. One for the short list

5. MOUHOOBAH - By Mahabb and is the second foal to run out of a dam that was a Group 1 PA winner in three countries

Summary There was plenty to like about the debut effort of (4) WADEEAA at La Teste-de-Buch earlier this month and even with nominal improvement from that experience should be well up to taking this small field event. (3) SCHEHERAZADE AL MAURY looks pretty good for the forecast with (1) DAHESS D'ARABIE and (5) MOUHOOBAH next in line.

Selections

(4) WADEEAA - (3) SCHEHERAZADE AL MAURY - (1) DAHESS D'ARABIE -

(5) MOUHOOBAH

Race 2 1. CROTH - Won a maiden at La Teste Buch last month after a promising second on his debut at Bordeaux in May

2. MARTHA JANE - Has not run since April when second to Salt Lake City in a Class 2 race at Chantilly. Not without a chance

3. MOISSON PRECOCE - Runner up in both her career starts at La Teste Buch. Extra 200m today should suit her

6. HOW INSENSITIVE - Tenth of eleven behind Silent war on her debut at Maisons-Laffitte last month. Likely to find a few too good here

7. TOLOSANE - Fourth to Penny Luz on her debut at Dax earlier this month. Plenty to do here

Summary (4) QATAR CUP is the selection here and a pretty confident one at that based on a more than satisfactory debut effort at Toulouse last month when an eyecatching runner up to Mission Impassible. That form stands out in the context of this race. (3) MOISSON PRECOCE and (1) CROTH can scrap for the silver medal with (2) MARTHA JANE following those.

Selections

(4) QATAR CUP - (3) MOISSON PRECOCE - (1) CROTH - (2) MARTHA JANE

8. PRETTY STRANGE - Has not run since February when unplaced in a claimer at Cagnes

9. TOUCH OF ART - One win from eleven starts. Needs to improve on recent form to have a chance here

Summary In any walk of life confidence is a huge factor and no more so than in the equine species so the fact that (7) DORA BRUDER came good at the fifth time of asking at Niort last time out must bode well for her chances of a follow up here. (2) MAKOFF has a chance to atone for a poor run last time. (6) JEANNAJONH and (1) JUST ONE LOOK can have a look at the frame too.

Selections

(7) DORA BRUDER - (2) MAKOFF - (6) JEANNAJONH - (1) JUST ONE LOOK

Race 4 1. CHOCOLAT DAY - By Rajsaman and is the first foal to run out of a dam that was a maiden after eight starts

3. PASTEL DE NATA - Last of five in a Class 2 race at Toulouse last month but is dropped in class today

4. SCARLET TOWN - Showed some promise in a maiden at Lyon Parilly last month but more needed here

5. MINA CHOPE - Last of eight on her debut at Toulouse last month and others preferred today

6. ZEPLYA - A winner and runner up in claimers on her last two starts. Place prospects here today

7. ILLADORE - Third to Absolute City in a maiden at Salon-Provence last time out. One for the short list

8. BABY SILVY - Just touched off by Mets La Quache on her debut in a claimer at Aix-Les-Bains last month

9. DIGICODE - Third to Isben in a claimer at Dax earlier this month and not ruled out here

10. FRANSY - Unplaced on his debut in a newcomers race at La Teste Buch nine days ago. Needs to improve

11. ROCKFUCHIAS - By Confuchias and is the second foal to run out of a dam that ran just once

13. ERDISKA - Well beaten last of five in a claimer at La Teste Buch last time out

14. CAOL - Promising debut when fourth to Rioticism at Bordeaux in March. Interesting here

Summary A close second to subsequent Class 1 winner Less Pire on her debut at Angers in May (7) ILLADORE was disappointing at La Teste Buch on her second start. She ran a lot better at Salon-Provence last time out and can break her maiden tag today. (2) FANCY DRESSER and (14) CAOL look the main dangers. (9) DIGICODE is next best.

Selections

(7) ILLADORE - (2) FANCY DRESSER - (14) CAOL - (9) DIGICODE

Race 5 1. TIPI CHOP - Has not run since last October when unplaced in a Listed race at Nantes. May need the run

2. SUGAR BAY - Won a claimer at La Teste Buch last month. Could be one to keep an eye on today

3. MONZALVOS - Second to Erudito in a Class 2 race at Dax earlier this month. Not without a chance here

4. ACEMANAN - Placed in two Class 2 races recently. Disappointing in his only start over this trip

7. YOUAREMINE - Still a maiden after eight starts. Hard to recommend here on that basis

8. SATIRIQUE - Two decent efforts in maidens at Salon-Provence but needs to improve again here

Summary (2) SUGAR BAY was an easy three and a half length winner from Baileys Eclat in a claimer at La Teste Buch last month. She is the selection to continue on his winning ways today. (6) DEVELOPER was a winner on her debut here in March and must also be respected. (5) HOT MOTIVE and (3) MONZALVOS can make the frame.

Selections

(2) SUGAR BAY - (6) DEVELOPER - (5) HOT MOTIVE - (3) MONZALVOS

Race 6 1. LA ZAMTOFF - Last of three wins came early last season and a bit in the doldrums now

2. C D'ARGENT - Triple winner from twenty seven but handicapper slow to cut some slack

5. MONGOLIA - Last of her three wins came here in February over further

6. RAGEUR - Nine time winner from seventy two and is in blinding form

7. NINGAL - Four time winner from thirty five but this is first start of season

11. TRICHEUR - Has won eight from seventy four and does need considering

12. DARK DYNAMIC - Still a maiden after ten and was poor last time out after second time before that

13. ZANICIA - Dual winner from thirty three and in good run of form right now

Summary Horses that are in hot form and running up sequences must always be feared and indeed followed so (9) HALLSOME just has to be the selection now in his bid for four straight victories. He will not find it easy however to deal with another one in fine fettle in the shape of (6) RAGEUR. (5) MONGOLIA and (2) C D'ARGENT can fill the frame.

Selections

(9) HALLSOME - (6) RAGEUR - (5) MONGOLIA - (2) C D'ARGENT

Race 7 1. SHAKSTORMY - One win from a dozen attempts and can be difficult to predict

2. PRINCE DINO - He is six from fifty four but well out of form at the minute

3. JOE BLACK - Off the mark on eighth start at Gabarret last time but this is tougher

4. BABEL OUEST - Thirteen time winner from eighty five so needs to be taken seriously

5. HIGH THABANA - He is seven from seventy four including penultimate start at Deauville

6. HUBRIS - Seven times a winner in the past and performed well last time out

7. ZAMIYR - Dual winner from thirty two and the signs were a bit better last time

8. MICK SANTO - Nine time winner from sixty three including last time at Montauben

9. CRACK MAMBO - Still a maiden after nineteen and excuses running thin at this stage

10. MALVASIA - Triple winner from twenty eight but work to do with Joe Black from last time

11. EIGHTEEN POEMS - Has not done enough in a dozen runs to be up for consideration here

12. GOLDEN CRISS - Seven time winner from ninety one but last couple of efforts are off putting

13. STORMY DANCE - Still a maiden after nineteen but has posted a few solid efforts

Summary (8) MICK SANTO has known for a while where the lollipop stick is situated and he has every chance of greeting the judge in front once more and make it victory number ten in total. The price should be very good as well. Many will give chances to (4) BABEL OUEST and (6) HUBRIS while (5) HIGH THABANA has each way claims too.

Selections

(8) MICK SANTO - (4) BABEL OUEST - (6) HUBRIS - (5) HIGH THABANA

Race 8 1. ILLUMINATOR - Scored on third start at Salon Provence in May and should come on for that

2. ALPHA JOA - Mostly consistent one time scorer from eight and runner up last time

3. ONE POUR MOI - Off the mark on her twelfth start at Dax last time so confidence high

4. KENAMO - Still a maiden after six runs and needs to buck up ideas here

5. MUYANA - Won one of her six starts but one feels she must improve

6. LINA FIRST - Placed in four of her five runs and this trip could be perfect

7. TASSILI N'AJJER - Remains a maiden after nine and form is now of concern

8. SUFRAH - A maiden in Britain, Spain and this country so the guess is to avoid

9. TY DREAM - One win from eighteen and looks increasingly exposed nowadays

10. ECLAIR NONANTAIS - One win from six runs and could have an outside chance of glory

11. LOUVE DANCER - She is a maiden after seventeen and patience is beginning to stretch

12. BAILEYS ECLAT - Just the one win from thirteen and radar might be needed at the end

13. GATLING - Better performance when third at Dax last time out so might be on the up

14. BON DIMANCHE - Placed twice in six outings but must do better is the line

15. LADY SPRING - Did not hit the frame in three starts so best watched here

16. CAMPANILLA - Very little to show after eight runs and easily left out in cold here

Summary Nothing easy for hard stretched punters here looking to save the day but (6) LINA FIRST appeals more than most and could reward those who choose to invest on the lightly raced hitherto maiden. The trip could be just perfect. (1) ILLUMINATOR and (2) ALPHA JOA should have their say while (4) KENAMO and (5) MUYANA need consideration too.

Selections

(6) LINA FIRST - (1) ILLUMINATOR - (2) ALPHA JOA - (4) KENAMO - (5) MUYANA

LES SABLES-D'OLONNE - 20th July

Trainer of the day : Jean-Michel Bazire (115, 311, 516, 608)

Driver of the day : Jean-Michel Bazire (115, 204, 311, 404, 516, 608)

Horse of the day : Aubrion du Gers (516)

Dark Horse : Douce du Loir (701)

Race 1 1. CYBELE DE JANVRIE - Very modest type that has nothing to show for her efforts and can be confidently disregarded

2. CARLA DES CHALIERS - Complicated mare that seldom leaves her mark and is not about to change her ways

3. CIZIE SMILING - Not the most rewarding of trotters. Has not once finished closer than fourth this year and can be ruled out

4. CARLA DES CARAIBES - Has maintained her competitive ways since returning to competition and should be good enough to make the first five

5. COMTESSE DE CONNEE - Complicated but has been reassuring lately. A place behind Cendree Darche earlier in the month and can play a small role

6. CYBELE DU CORTA - Enjoying a decent run under the saddle this term but is no slouch under harness and from the front line can give this a good go

7. CHANCEUSE WILLIAM - Moderate sort that has just once made the frame this year and can expect to find this a stiff test

8. CENDREE DARCHE - Beginning to show improvement. Enjoys a good association with her driver and will have her supporters

9. CAVIGA DU RIB - One of the least productive elements in the race and will have nothing to give

10. CLEOPATRE DU PAOU - Gives a respectable account for the most part. Has a decent entry on the first line but no more than a minor place chance

11. CHACHA DE GONTIER - Occasionally delicate but has won three from five this term and with stride in check can play a leading role

12. CATARINA DE MARZY - Has never once made any impact under harness and can be confidently written off

13. CORALIE DU SOIR - Looked very ordinary on both return starts last month and unlikely to shake things up

14. COLOMBIA D'OYSE - Third start back since her layoff and with shoes off for

the occasion should not be far off the mark

15. CALDA DU VIVIER - Very consistent mare that has been on cracking form this season. Has an excellent entry and should logically impose

Summary (15) CALDA DU VIVIER has enjoyed a very rewarding season so far and although starting on the second row she looks the one to beat. That said, with three wins from her last five (11) CHACHA DE GONTIER should be able to give her a run for her money provided she can keep her action together. (14) COLOMBIA D'OYSE should be fully fit by now and with shoes off for the occasion can go close, however she will need to keep a watchful eye on the in-form who can make a big impact if her form transitions under harness.

3. CUMIN DU PONT - Just three races under his belt so far this season. Beat his personal-best last week and will have his supporters

4. COLT TUILERIE - Complicated type but is confirmed at this level. Breaks from the front and can play a leading role provided he can keep his action together

5. CALIFE DU CALICE - Useful sort but not always the most reliable. Returns from a two-months layoff but still worth a small consideration

6. CAMARO DE LIMERAY - Blows hot and cold. Looked very ordinary in both starts this season but still not to be entirely overlooked

7. CHARME KERYVON - Decent type that has endured an interrupted career. Makes his first appearance for 14 months and will need the run

9. CASH DES ANGLES - Has made no impact on the track so far this year and can confidently disregarded

10. CARAMEL D'ECHAL - Sanctioned almost as often as not but pleased on just his second start back and will be worth a small consideration

11. CKENOBY PONCELET - Form has regressed since his seasonal debut and is unlikely to shake things up

12. CHEF DU TRESOR - Has demonstrated very good consistency this term and although racing fully shod can still finish in the money

13. CESAR LERWEN - Complicated but is proven at this level of competition and if applied can make the first five

14. CANADIAN LOVE - Good sort at this level. Will be race-fit by now and can impose with J-Ph Monclin at the helm

15. CESSILAC - Seldom disappoints when going unshod behind. Well in at the prizemoney threshold and on current form looks a solid place chance

Summary After two return starts (14) CANADIAN LOVE should be at peak fitness and is expected to return to his competitive ways. He can nonetheless expect some opposition from the delicate (4) COLT TUILERIE who starts with a 25m

advantage. (15) CESSILAC is very hard to fault when racing unshod behind and is not incapable of winning this. If (13) CESAR LERWEN can get off on the right foot he too should have a role to play.

Selections

Race 3 1. DJINCOK DE GUEZ - Has given no indication of any aptitude for racing and is not about to buck the trend

2. DALAKANI BOY - Lightly raced colt that returned modestly four days ago after a 14 months absence and unlikely to be at peak fitness

3. DINERO PAGUERIE - Got back down to business in a minor event late last month but will struggle to confirm even from the front line

4. DESIR DU MEDOC - Showed early promise but lost his way at the end of last season and has picked up where he left off. Disregard

5. DOCK SUR - Blows hot and cold but is not without merit. Incurs the penalty and little chance of making his presence felt

6. DERBY SPEED - Has previously shown some aptitude for this branch of the game and considering the opposition should not be far off the mark

7. DIABLO DE CAPONET - Back in the game following the layoff. Acquitted himself well at Nantes earlier in the month and can finish in the money

8. DJANGO DU BANNEY - Won first time under harness this season but form currently heading in the wrong direction and must reaffirm

9. DIAMOND CHARM - Has shown a different side to himself over the past month. Winner of his last two and is not incapable of achieving the hat-trick

10. DIALETTO - Useful type that has not been at his best this season but caught the eye at Saint-Brieuc last time and can confirm with Eric Raffin. Place chance

11. DRUSS DE GUEZ - Just one blip from four over the past two months. Pleased at Saint-Galmier early July and should have the measure of most here

Summary (11) DRUSS DE GUEZ has just scraped his way into this race and considering current form must be considered the leading contender. (9) DIAMOND CHARM however has won his last two and the three-timer is not beyond his reach. (10) DIALETTO reassured last time out and looks a promising place prospect. (6) DERBY SPEED is something of a gamble but a spot in the money is not out of the question if he can reproduce his earlier form.

2. DORIMENE - Demonstrated considerable potential last year. Makes her seasonal debut but is unshod behind for the occasion and must be respected

3. DAYA - Tricky sort that made an encouraging comeback earlier in the month and with hind shoes off again could well finish in the money

4. DYNAMITE MARCEAUX - Very delicate filly but has ample talent. Top driver drafted in and if applied should go close

5. DISCRETE GIRL - Looked a handy sort last year. Given an easy re-entry earlier this month and significant improvement expected

6. DINAH WASHINGTON - Still a maiden from 19 but has shown some promise since racing barefoot and will have her supporters

7. DIABLESSE DE MONE - Significantly better individual in the other discipline and will struggle to make her presence felt

8. DAISY DE LA VALLEE - Respectable filly in the provinces. Encouraged earlier in the month but still has more to find

9. DEESSE ELICIA - Nothing to like on her formsheet for a considerable period. First start for three months and offers little hope

10. DIVA DU CHERISAY - Came close at Enghien mid-June before confirming at Cabourg and must be considered a priority. Claim

11. DALIE DU CITRUS - Just once out of the first 3 to date. Gave a fine account at Mauquenchy last time and should again figure prominently

Summary After leaving her mark at Enghien last month (10) DIVA DU CHERISAY gave a very good account at Cabourg two weeks ago and although on the back line can bring home the bacon. She can still count on resistance though from (11) DALIE DU CITRUS who has climbed the class ladder in good order. (4) DYNAMITE MARCEAUX is very complicated but undeniably capable and the Bazire touch could prove key to her redemption. (2) DORIMENE also breaks from the front and despite returning from a long absence is not without a respectable place chance.

4. URGOS DU CEDRE - Has failed to make the first three for the past 16 months and can be written off

5. COEUR BAROQUE - Not always the most reliable but is proven at this level. Incurs no penalty and looks to have a lot to offer

7. ARTHURO BOY - Faithful sort that encouraged last time out. Is confirmed at this level and is not incapable of finishing in the money

8. ATTACUS - Hardy trotter that consistently gives his best. Not once out of the first three this year and although stepping up in class breaks from the front line and can make a big impact

9. SUPER ARIEL - Has raced respectably for much of the year. Not as effective in her last two but can still make the first five

10. VAISMAN - Previously a very good sort but lost his way at the end of last year. Has not been seen out since and can be passed over

13. ATHENA DE VANDEL - Moderate trotter that tends to show more under the saddle and is unlikely to influence the outcome

14. TEXAS DE L'ITON - Very talented individual that has not once been out of the first three this year but races shod and unlikely to make a big impact

15. UPPERCUT DE MANCHE - Fine dual-purpose trotter that makes his first appearance since November 2015 and is sure to need the run

16. AUBRION DU GERS - Exceptionally consistent and talented sort that flew up at Vichy earlier in the month and difficult to see him being beaten

17. BIRD PARKER - High-class type that is seldom far from the action. Finished

second to Aubrion Du Gers at Caen last time out and should again figure prominently

Summary After a brief foray into Norway (16) AUBRION DU GERS returned to France earlier in the month and duly scored a G.II success with room to spare. (17) BIRD PARKER is another with considerable ability and looks the principal challenger here. (8) ATTACUS has been very hard to knock for some time and from the front row can make his presence felt. (3) BLOOMA D'HERIPRE caught the eye at Enghien last time and together with (5) COEUR BAROQUE they look the best minor place chances.

Selections

D'HERIPRE - (5) COEUR BAROQUE

Race 6 1. ECLAT DE L'ITON - Yet to show any aptitude for the game and can expect to remain friendless in the markets

2. EMIR PERRINE - Encouraged twelve days ago on his second career start but must still show marked improvement

3. ELEGANT FARCAP - Moderate type but showed improvement at Pornichet earlier in the month and will generate more support this time around

4. ETAIN DE VIVOIN - Sanctioned two from three but has Eric Raffin in the sulky this time and with application can play a major role

5. EOLIEN DE CHENU - Beginning to make good progress. Finished smartly at Saint-Malo 11 days ago and on similar form can make a big impact

6. ELEGANT D'UN SOIR - Delicate but considerably more at ease going left-handed and will be one to note

7. EMILIO CEIJY - Showed potential earlier in the year but has looked ordinary recently and will need to raise his game

8. EMILIANO - Won on debut last month and acquitted himself particularly well despite being disqualified at Vichy a fortnight back. With application he should trot off with the silverware

9. EURO FRAZEEN - Moderate type that has not finished outside of the first five when applied and should again acquit himself respectably

Summary The talented (8) EMILIANO was unfortunate to break stride at Vichy last time and if behaved on this occasion he should prove the one to beat. (5) EOLIEN DE CHENU however is no slouch and a repeat of his Saint-Malo performance should see him again go close. With Eric Raffin in charge this time (4) ETAIN DE VIVOIN can be assured a competitive drive and looks good enough to make the frame. (3) ELEGANT FARCAP sticks to racing left-handed and appears to have a good hand to play.

Selections

Race 7 1. DOUCE DU LOIR - Finished two places behind Demon Des Veys at Laval on her ridden debut and comes here with a respectable chance of finishing in the mix

3. DIVINE DE JIEL - Has not once finished in the frame from 16 career starts and is not about to break the mould

4. DIEGO DU TRESOR - Lightly raced trotter but acquitted himself well on ridden debut last month and on similar form could yet make the first five

5. DAMBIE DU VIVIER - Finished in the frame in two of her last four. Shoes back on this time but still worth a second look

6. DYNASTY PEJI - Disqualified more often than not but opened her account when barefoot for the first time and a similar performance could see her double up

8. DRAGON DU GUE - Began to show improvement when unshod behind at Graignes but fitted with shoes this time and unlikely to influence the outcome

9. DJEBEL D'AVIGNERE - Capable type and although found wanting last time out still has the wherewithal to finish in the money

10. DUC DE GREZ - Undeniably talented in the other discipline he has yet to show any aptitude for ridden competition. Benefits from a top jockey this time and should not be written off

11. DEMON DES VEYS - Gives a good account for the most part in this discipline. Encouraged when third at Cabourg nine days ago and has the potential to go close

12. DUNE DE BELLOUET - Please on more than one occasion this season but with shoes back on can expect to find this a stiff test

13. DIPLADENIA DES VEZ - Filly with some potential and although unraced since early January goes unshod all four on comeback and will be worth watching

14. DISTRE LOUISANDRE - Has just once shown any aptitude for ridden competition and current form does nothing to inspire confidence. Disregard

15. DAKIR DE LUBEL - Talented but regularly under the stewards' scrutiny. Left a good impression at Ecommoy when barefoot for the first time and with shoes off again can impose

Summary (15) DAKIR DE LUBEL looked a different horse at Ecommoy when barefoot for the first time and on similar form can have his way this time. (6) DYNASTY PEJI also enjoyed a change in fortune when barefoot and should be able to put up some resistance. (11) DEMON DES VEYS finished in the frame on his last two ridden starts and should repeat, while connections are confident of a better performance from the promising (9) DJEBEL D'AVIGNERE who could steal his thunder.

Selections

Race 8 1. BENFICA - Has nothing to prove in the amateur division and should be able to bounce back from his recent blip. Place chance

2. VERJAK HEULINOIS - Occasionally tricky but has more than once left his mark at this level. Sanctioned in his last two however and must reaffirm

9. VIRGINIA RUSH - Serious mare at this level of competition and on current form expected to play a leading role

10. VAQUESSO - Has begun to show improvement. Will not have to give away distance this time and every chance of finishing in the money

11. ABRICOT DES LANDES - Useful individual that went close last week but with shoes on this time is unlikely to endear himself to many

12. ANYMEDE DU GITE - Moderate type that recently made his comeback after a long absence and will struggle to make his presence felt

13. APODIS CHAMP BLANC - Won a brace earlier in the summer but appears to have lost his way and must reaffirm

14. BE GOOD - Very complicated sort but when applied seldom disappoints. Can make a big impact providing he gets off on the right foot

Summary (9) VIRGINIA RUSH consistently gives a good account of herself and the nature of her latest performance augurs well for her chances here. The complicated (14) BE GOOD seldom disappoints when she can keep her stride in check and if applied will be dangerous. (6) AUBRAC DU RIB got back in the game last time

when unshod behind and can give this a good go, but she can nonetheless expect to feel some pressure from (10) VAQUESSO who races on level terms this time.

Selections
