59 The Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion (C.M.G.), by R. & S.Garrard & Co. of London, in original case of issue, before 1909, Magnificent seven-pointed white enamel and silver-gilt Maltese cross with imperial crown and laterally-pierced cylinder between the upper arms for ribbon suspension and with swivel ring and ribbon bar; the face with a circular central gold medallion imposed bearing the polychrome image of St. Michael subduing Satan within a deep blue circle inscribed in gilt letters ‘AUSPICIUM MELIORIS AEVI’ (a token of a better age); the reverse with a circular central gold medallion imposed bearing the polychrome image of St. George on horseback slaying the dragon within a deep blue circle inscribed in gilt letters ‘AUSPICIUM MELIORIS AEVI’ (a token of a better age); height excluding suspension ring 68.76mm (2.7 inches), diameter 51.01mm (2 inches) on correct ribbon with original silver-gilt buckle; in original fitted embossed leatherette case of issue by R. & S. Garrard & Co.. The Order was instituted on 28 April 1818 by the Prince Regent (later to become King George IV) to acknowledge valuable contributions by the citizens of the Ionian Islands and Malta, both of which had been placed under British protection at the end of the Napoleonic Wars. Appointments to the Order might also be made for those in ‘high and confidential situations in the Mediterranean’. In 1864 the Ionian Islands were ceded to Greece and the Order was revised in 1868 with future appointments to be those who ‘hold high and confidential offices within Her Majesty's colonial possessions and in reward for services rendered to the Crown in relation to the foreign affairs of the Empire’. Today membership of the Order is limited to 125 Knights Grand Cross (G.C.M.G.), 375 Knights Commander (K.C.M.G.), and 1,750 Companions (C.M.G.) and appointments are made to men and women of high office, or who render extraordinary or important

non-military service in a foreign country. It can also be conferred for important or loyal service in relation to foreign and Commonwealth affairs. Thus members are typically British ambassadors, other senior diplomats and colonial governors general and governors. A superb early example of outstanding quality and in excellent condition dating from before the then Crown Jewellers R. & S. Garrard became Garrard & Co Ltd on 18 March 1909. 1001 The John Hewson - 1980 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4. est $100,000 - $150,000- last rego 2015. low KM's 60,760- Australian delivered car, silver with blue interior, with original books and service log, recent motor full recondition, Right Hand Drive, Chassis Number 15246, Engine number 03963- Ferrari's family of immensely successful V8 road cars began in 1973 with the 308GT4, a model badged until 1977 as a Dino, thereafter badged a Ferrari on the bonnet and Dino badge at the rear. The Maranello factory's first V8-engined road car and first mid-engined 2+2, the 308GT4 was the work of Bertone rather than the customary Pininfarina. By placing the front seats well forward Bertone made room within the 100" wheelbase for two children or one sideways-seated adult in the rear, while the compact engine/transaxle package left space behind the engine bay for a 5cu ft luggage compartment. Although the newcomer's wedge-shaped styling was controversial, the performance of its quad-cam 3.0-litre V8 did not disappoint, proving sufficient to propel the 308 past 250 km/h, with 100 km/h coming up in under 7 seconds. All-round independent suspension and a stiff chassis ensured that the handling was what one would expect from a Ferrari. The most outstanding feature of the Dino 308 is the excellent ride it provides. The progress, compared to earlier Ferraris, is outstanding to say the lestCompeting with Maserati's Merak and the Lamborghini Urracco, the new Dino was significantly quicker than both its rivals, Despite early misgivings around the styling, the Dino proved a resounding success, with just over 2,826 sold in seven years of production, the motor was mated to a five-speed transmission, with the traditional Ferrari slotted gate. This model produced in 1980 and is an Australian delivered car. (Sold with blue slip ) This car still retains the original service wallet.

1004 1912 Star 15 hp Tourer Chassis no 4035 pale green, with buttoned aged leather , unregistered. Between 1905 and 1909 the Star Cycle Car Co, entered the car mark under the direction of Edward Lisle junior. They produced the Starling which was a very basic chain- drive design and powered by a 6hp De Dion Bouton engine. The car manufacture side of company now know as Star Engineering Co had prospered with a range of well engineered conventional motorcars and in 1909 to 1913 offered a range of hp options including a 15hp, 30 hp & 40 hp latter only made in very small numbers prior to the start of WWI . This 1912 15hp model was purchased at the auction of well known collector George Green's estate by another well known enthusiast Frank Illich. Whist in the collection of George Green it had been restored by Percy Stewart who was at that time was responsible for restoring most of Greens collection. In 1970's the car passed from Frank Illich into the Scott collection where it was used by the Scott family for rallies and parades. This car also was featured in the film '''Dirt Water Dynasty" a rare example of a pre WWI Star
