February 19, 2014 Dear Area Employers and Human Resource Managers: Each year Vermilion Advantage requests information for our annual Vermilion County Wage and Skills Survey. This tool is designed to help you understand how your wage and benefit structure compares to other local companies. It is also a vital instrument for us in our ongoing recruiting efforts to give potential employers a reading on the local business climate. Therefore, we hope you will understand our persistence in asking for your participation. We will be following up for responses by phone and through personal calls, if necessary, to collect data. If you do not respond to the survey, but desire a copy of the results, you will be required to pay $25.00 for the final survey results. If you are a participant, there will be no charge. To more accurately reflect the local climate, we are again requesting Actual Average wage data along with Entry and Maximum wage statistics. Your completeness in filling out all three wage categories is necessary to correctly show the area wages at all levels. Please use the enclosed wage earner titles to help classify your company’s individual job titles into the ones listed on the survey. If no title on the survey adequately describes your position, list your title separately under “other.” We have used the State listing of job categories in order to provide some uniformity. However, these titles may not exactly fit what you have in your business. A definitions page is also enclosed to assist you in filling out the survey. Please remember that our results depend on your complete and accurate answers to the questionnaires. All information is tabulated into a composite report. At no time will reference be made to your individual company or the data you furnish. Confidentiality is maintained, as always. For your convenience and to save postage costs this year, we have posted the wage & benefit survey documents on our home page at www.vermilionadvantage.com in the left-hand column. You may print them out and mail to 28 W. North Street, Danville 61832; fax them to 217-442-6228; or e- mail them to [email protected]. If you want the surveys in Word format so that you can type into them, just let Machelle know. Finished reports will be e-mailed to you after tabulation is complete. Please return completed surveys by March 14, 2014. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please contact Machelle Dykes at [email protected].
