VICTOR HARBOR MEN’S SHED WORKING SHOULDER TO SHOULDER Hi All, WORK, WORK, WORK Never a dull moment at the Shed! The Yellow Trailer (kindly donated by Dean) has had a little attention from David, who’s done a slight alteration to keep track of the gate bolts. Some work was also done on the tail lights. Still in the metal workshop, Keith has done some more work on storage racks, this time to improve the “system” in the wood storage shed. At the same time Barrie & David have done a little tidying in the same Shed. Dean won’t be able to find anything, now!! (Have to ask those two, Dean!) The Bench Workshop now has another supervisor!! (Thanks Ian for the pic). Last Wednesday was busy, with visits from reps from “YESS” to explain their free LED lights replacement scheme……. ……as well as a “crowd” of members of Probus - they “took over” the Dennis Williams Room, so the poor fellas had to dine in the Bench Workshop!!

VICTOR HARBOR MEN’S SHED WORKING SHOULDER TO SHOULDER

Hi All,

WORK, WORK, WORK

Never a dull moment at the Shed! The Yellow Trailer (kindly donated by Dean) has had a little attention

from David, who’s done a slight alteration to keep track of the gate bolts. Some work was also done on the tail lights.

Still in the metal workshop, Keith has done some more work on storage racks, this time to improve the “system” in the wood storage shed.

At the same time Barrie & David have done a little tidying in the same Shed. Dean

won’t be able to find anything, now!! (Have to ask those two, Dean!)

The Bench Workshop now has another supervisor!! (Thanks Ian for the pic).

Last Wednesday was busy, with visits from reps from “YESS” to explain their free LED lights replacement

scheme…….

……as well as a “crowd” of members of Probus - they “took over” the Dennis Williams Room, so the poor fellas had to dine in the Bench Workshop!!

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD!

Thanks Phillip & the team for last Tuesday’s egg & bacon roll with chips. This Tuesday Phillip & Roger are doing a British Lunch:

Bangers & Mash with gravy & crusty bread, for $4.

The Pork Medallions, with Ginger Fruits last Friday, were worth waiting for. Thanks Christopher!

This Friday, with the AGM happening, we’ll be having:a BBQ with Continental Sausages & crusty bread rolls, $4. Did I hear someone mention salads?

SHED SHOP

See Allan if you need a brand new pair of boots.

CLEANING ROSTER

No more, no more!! Thanks Alan & Bill!!

Just in case you missed it, as there have been issues with the cleaning roster, the Committee decided that we would employ Alan & Bill to do a thorough clean each week (on Mondays). On other days members are asked to help keep the place tidy, and simply wipe down a few tables & benches each day. Try to keep the floor clean!! The Shed Supervisor for the day will be checking that we keep it all ship-shape!

2019 PROGRAM - REMINDERS, DATES

Allan Edmondson-Stott is coordinating some activities for the year, and may be asking for volunteers to organise specific events (eg an Eightball or darts competition). He has a few ideas up his sleeve, but I’m sure he’d be open to suggestions, if you have a good plan.

On Friday 12th April, Australian Hearing will be at the Shed from 9.30am ’til 12noon, with a van in the car park. They will speak briefly after morning tea, and will be available to advise on hearing needs. This group is government sponsored, earns no commission, and can assist mainly those who are on pension or health card or DVA.(‘I CAN HEAR JUST FINE!'Three retirees, each with a hearing loss, were playing golf one fine March day.One remarked to the other, 'Windy, isn't it?''No,' the second man replied, 'it's Thursday'And the third man chimed in, 'So am I. Let's have a beer.' )

On Saturday 13th April from 9am to 3pm, we’ll be holding our Garage Sale to sell some of our surplus tools, as well as any spare projects which we’ve made. There’ll be a Sausage Sizzle. Talk to Darryl or Allan if you have some input.

SOME OTHER REMINDERS

Brett, from QuickFix, will be coming to the Shed on Wednesday, 13th March, at 11am, to assist us with setting up the computers in the office area, and advise us on what we might need.

As a senior member of our Shed was driving up the expressway, his car phone rang.Answering, he heard his wife's voice urgently warning him, 'Alan, I justheard on the news that there's a car going the wrong way on the Southern Expressway. Please be careful!''Heck,' said Alan, 'It's not just one car. It's hundreds of them!'

Cheers, John.
