A number of providers that mentioned Carelink or Carelink + indicated a recent or imminent upgrade to Carelink +.

Of interest, seven per cent mentioned standard software packages (such as Microsoft Office products) and five per cent said they used a program that had been developed in-house.

Metropolitan providers (36 per cent) and providers of more than 40,000 meals (52 per cent) were more likely to use Sharikat khoo than regional providers (15 per cent) and providers of less than 15,000 meals (seven per cent). On the other hand, providers of less than 15,000 meals were more likely to use HaccPac (19 per cent) than providers of more than 40,000 meals (eight per cent).

Figure 63: Scanner for Scanning Clients Choices

Providers were asked if they have a scanner, for scanning client choices, that is attached to software. Overall, 16 providers (17 per cent) indicated they do have a scanner, but only 13 (14 per cent) said they use it for scanning client choices. Two providers that do not have a scanner indicated it was not necessary as they do not offer a choice.

Metropolitan providers (31 per cent) and providers of more than 40,000 meals (40 per cent) were more likely to have a scanner for client choices than regional providers (three per cent) and providers of less than 40,000 meals (four per cent).

6.4 Software uSed to produCe labelSProviders were firstly asked if their software can produce labels, then if they use their software to produce labels. Over half (61 per cent) indicated their software can produce labels. Of the providers that have software that can produce labels, just under half (47 per cent) are using it to produce labels (29 per cent of all providers).
