Identity  Service  (Keystone)IBM  has  been  the  top  contributor  to  Keystone  since  2013.    Latest  features  implemented  by  the  IBM  team  include:    remote  administration  of  domain  configuration  attributes  without  requiring  a  shutdown/restart  of  Keystone,  OpenID Connect  support,  and  increased  CADF  audit  support  .In  addition,  collaborating  with  CERN,  Rackspace,  Yahoo,  HP,  and  UFCG-LSD,  IBM  implemented    new  enhancements  to  improve  Keystone’s  hybrid  cloud  support  based  on  industry  standard  federation  protocols.

Block  Storage  (Cinder)For  three  consecutive  release  cycles,  IBM  has  been  the  leader  in  contributions  and  reviews  to  Cinder.    In  this  release,  IBMers focused  on  improving  the  quality  of  Cinder.    Key  quality  improvements  were  made  to  volume  migration,  volume  replication,  lazy  translation,  and  its  oslosupport.    Additionally,  IBMers added  a  new  Flashsystem volume  driver,  and  consistency  group  support  for  the  for  GPFS,  storwize SVC  and  XIV/DS8k  drivers.

Dashboard  (Horizon)In  an  effort   to  improve  the  OpenStack  user  experience,  IBM  participated  in  over  1600  code  review  in  Horizon  and  is  number  three  in  contributions.    New  features  added  to  Horizon  by  IBMers include  serial  console  support,  integration  of  \the  magic  search  functionality  from  Eucalyptus,  and  Angular  enhancements  for  performing  password  valuation,  continuation  dialogs,  and  launching  instances.    IBMers also  collaborated  with  contributors  from  Yahoo  to  add  federation  based  web  single  sign-on  support  to  Horizon.

RefStackIBM  has  been  one  of  the  leaders  in  the  effort  around  the  OpenStack  certification  process  and  the  interoperability  tools.  For  Kilo,  IBM  is  the  major  contributor   to  the  development  of  the  Refstack-client  which  is  a  compliance  test  tool  for  OpenStack  deployments.

Database  as  a  Service  (Trove)In  this  release  IBMers added  both  an  Apache  CouchDB and  DB2  Express  C  plugin to  Trove.  Additionally,  IBMers implemented  CADF  based  audit  support  to  several  key  supported  operations.    With  this  new  functionality,    we  are  helping  to  grow  Trove’s  applicability  and  consumability.

Orchestration  (Heat)  IBM  continues  to  be  a  top  contributor  to  Heat  focusing  on  the  TOSCA  Heat  Translator  component.    This  component  supports  the  translation  of    portable  applications  written  in  the  OASIS  TOSCA  open  standard  language  to  run  as  HOT  templates.      In  addition,    multi-region  support  was  added  to  Heat,  which  allows  for  deploying  parts  of  an  overall  stack  - defined  as  nested  templates  - to  different  regions  in  OpenStack.    This  feature  had  long  been  asked  for,  and  is  an  enabler  for  important  enterprise  and  Telco  use  cases.
