Mr Toomey had organised the students into seven dierent teams and although a hot and windy day all the students enjoyed the challenge of playing against various other schools. It was not a compeƟƟon with the aim instead to increase interest in playing touch football and improve general tness and athleƟc skills. Thank you to Cliand the Primary stawho supervised the students for the day. Narrabri District Cricket Challenge Again last Thursday a combined Wee Waa and Burren JuncƟon Public boys cricket team took part in this annual compeƟƟon against the Narrabri schools. Played in a 12 over round robin format the boys performed very well and showed enormous improvement since last playing in February. The boys easily accounted for their St Xaviers opponents but found the Narrabri West boys dicult to dislodge. The nal result saw Narrabri West win on superior run rate from Wee Waa/Burren. Thank you to those parents who assisted with transport. The members of the team from Wee Waa Public were Max Smith, George Reid, Lachlan Wright, Lucas Piper, BJ Cruickshank & Dylan Smith. Zac Doring off to Sydney Yesterday we farewelled Zac Doring as he headed oto take part in the NSW PSSA athleƟcs carnival to be held at Homebush on Wednesday and Thursday. Zac is taking part in the Junior shotput event. Zac nished 3rd at the regionals to qualify for Sydney. He has been training hard and has improved by over a metre since then. We wish him all the best in his compeƟƟon. Thank you to the P&C and to Namoi CoƩon for supporƟng Zac by way of some sponsorship. Book Week Prize Winners At our assembly yesterday Mrs Margaret Trindall our community librarian presented book prizes to a number of students who won secƟons of the recent colouring compeƟƟon. Thank you to Mrs Trindall for running this compeƟƟon. Winners were Sam Galagher, Cameisha Biles, Lacey Evans & Lucy Crutcher. Art Classes Mrs WaƩs is once again running an extension art class for selected students from across the school over the next few days. Calling on the skills of a number of local art experts to provide specialized instrucƟon the students are developing a range of art works. I have seen the works in progress and can’t wait to see the nished products. Well done students! Our school has produced more than its fair share of talented sportspersons over the years and now arƟsts – FantasƟc to see. Intensive Swimming The pool is booked for the fortnight of the 18th to 29th November. All students from Kindergarten to Year 2 are expected to take part. View From The Principal’s Desk Touch Football Gala Day 

Last Thursday over 60 of our Primary students took part in a NSW Touch Football Associa on Gala Day at Gately Fields in

Narrabri. Mr Toomey had organised the students into seven different teams and although a hot and windy day all the

students enjoyed the challenge of playing against various other schools. It was not a compe on with the aim instead to

increase interest in playing touch football and improve general fitness and athle c skills. Thank you to Cliff and the

Primary staff who supervised the students for the day.

Narrabri District Cricket Challenge 

Again last Thursday a combined Wee Waa and Burren Junc on Public boys cricket team took part in this annual

compe on against the Narrabri schools. Played in a 12 over round robin format the boys performed very well

and showed enormous improvement since last playing in February. The boys easily accounted for their St Xaviers

opponents but found the Narrabri West boys difficult to dislodge. The final result saw Narrabri West win on

Zac Doring off to Sydney 

Yesterday we farewelled Zac Doring as he headed off to take part in the NSW PSSA athle cs carnival to be held at

Homebush on Wednesday and Thursday. Zac is taking part in the Junior shotput event. Zac finished 3rd at the regionals

Art Classes 

Mrs Wa s is once again running an extension art class for selected students from across the school over the next few

days. Calling on the skills of a number of local art experts to provide specialized instruc on the students are

developing a range of art works. I have seen the works in progress and can’t wait to see the finished

products. Well done students! Our school has produced more than its fair share of talented sportspersons

over the years and now ar sts – Fantas c to see.

Intensive Swimming 

The pool is booked for the fortnight of the 18th to 29th November. All students from Kindergarten to Year 2 are expected

to take part. When the classes start a ending the pool for sport in few weeks me we will look at which

Primary students will be offered the opportunity as well of taking part in the intensive program. Please note

the cost of pool entry is now $2 a me so it will cost $20 per student to take part. The school has received

P & C NEWS

Summer Uniform Orders ‐ All orders have now been received and if you are wai ng on white polos they are available to collect from the canteen. There are s ll stocks of ready‐made shorts, skorts and tunics at the canteen for purchase in various sizes as well as yellow sports polos and some white embroidered logos. Another uniform order sheet will go out in the next couple of weeks with the newsle er. The canteen also has a lot of preloved uniforms, some of which are s ll in great condi on, priced from $3 ‐ $5 per item.

The P&C are hos ng a Trivia Night on Friday 25th October. Start organising your team for a fun night 

out!  Flyers will accompany this newsle er and we hope to have many school families a end the night.    

Please collect raffle  cket booklets from the school office to sell!  We hope to raise some valuable funds for playground improvements with this raffle!! If anyone has sold their  ckets please return  cket books and money to the school office. Tickets are $2 each. Also anyone able to sell raffle booklets down the street, please contact Kerry on 0427 953375.  

The next P&C mee ng will be held on Wednesday 13th November from 5.30pm in the school staff room.  New members are always welcome.  

A huge thank you to the teachers, staff and parents who assisted with the end of Term 3 Disco, a fun night was had by 

all who a ended!! 

Music Group 

Unfortunately I have to change the a ernoon I have drum group from Wednesday a ernoon to THURSDAY

a ernoon. The me is s ll 3:15 to 4:30pm in the hall. We will start this week. Music group is for Year 5 and

6 students.

Mrs Cain has a drum group which she takes on Mondays during the day. This is a separate group to the a ernoon one.

Tennis  

Narrabri Tennis travels to Wee Waa and offers Tennis Coaching on Friday a ernoons @ Wee Waa Tennis Courts.

Current students coaching will resume Friday 25th October at your usual meslots!

New students are most welcome with 30min lessons offering coaching to suit the beginner, intermediate or advanced juniors. Fun game based learning environment with instruc on on all strokes and footwork!
