CYCLONE WINSTON – VANUABALAVU ASSESSMENT REPORT 1 PERIOD: 27 th – 28 th February, 2016 Introduction The Vanuabalavu Assessment Team together with the Ration Distribution Team left Suva on Wednesday, 24 th February 2016 at around 12.00 midnight stopping over at Nawaikama in Gau at around 10.00am on 25 th February to unload ration before heading to Koro Island. District Officer Gau will provide update of the food ration distribution as there was no list provided to our Team. The Team left Koro Island early hours in the morning of 26 th February arriving at Vanuabalavu at around 4.oopm in the afternoon. Unloading and storage of ration at Adi Maopa Secondary School commenced at 7.00pm till early hours of Saturday (27/02/2016) morning. PERIOD: 27 th – 28 th February, 2016 Introduction

The Vanuabalavu Assessment Team together with the Ration Distribution Team left Suva on Wednesday, 24th February 2016 at around 12.00 midnight stopping over at Nawaikama in Gau at around 10.00am on 25th February to unload ration before heading to Koro Island. Next UpdateThe Team is currently compiling reports from villages and settlements in the Mualevu and Lomaloma Districts in the Island. The Team is collating information through house to house visitation interviewing owners of the house with assistance from the Turaga Ni Koro and Mata-ni-Tikina. Will provide updates on total houses in a village, house completely & partly destroyed, records of other household items destroyed and the total estimated cost of damaged.

The Team schedule to provide more updates to DISMAC Office before the close of business today.Regards
