Will the Minister of POWER be pleased to state:-

(a) the details of power projects undertaken in the country during Eleventh and Twelfth Plan with their capacity including current their status alongwith the steps taken to complete the projects under construction, State/UT/project-wise;

(b) the State/UT-wise details of projects whose capacity is proposed to be increased along with the action taken by the Government in this regard; and

(c) whether the Government intends to undertake more power projects in near future and if so, the details thereof?

(a) : State/Union Territory (UT)/Project-wise details of power projects taken up during the Eleventh and Twelfth Plan are placed at Annex-IA for thermal projects and Annex-IB for hydro projects. To ensure timely completion of these projects, regular monitoring is done by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA)

through frequent site visit, and interaction with developers and equipment suppliers. A Power Project Monitoring Panel (PPMP) has also been set up to monitor the hydro and thermal generation projects along with the associated transmission system. Regular reviews are taken at various levels, including joint review by Secretary (Power) and Secretary (Heavy Industry) to identify the problem areas and facilitate expeditious resolution of outstanding issues.

(b) : Extension units aggregating 28,071 Mega Watt (MW) are being installed to increase the station capacity of 30 thermal power stations. The State/UT /Project-wise details are at Annex-II.

(c) : To take up power projects in the near future, CEA has prioritized 166 thermal projects aggregating 1,91,621.4 MW for Coal linkage. CEA has also accorded concurrence to 41 hydro power projects aggregating 26,332 MW.

U#1 – Rotor lowered,

U#2 – Rotor is ready for lowering ,

U#4 – Main shaft cleaning, assembly of bearing with shaft is completed and ready for lowering.

Commissioning is likely to slip to 2015-17.
