Yes No20 22

Question 23: What additional information do you think might be relevant to describing the use of instructional technology in your classroom and /or district?

We work really hard to get the technology we want. It is not as simple as saying, "I want. . ." and then we get it.

I believe we have come a long way in the past 5-7 years. We have a district, high school and elementary technology committees. We have done much collaboration and purchasing of equipment as a team. More people attend conferences and share information with colleagues. I do know that some special educators in the school do not have the same basic equipment as regular ed staff. i.e. Smartboards. I would like to see, during media time for K-6, any education about the use of looking up materials in a library and the general use of the library, so students can be more equipped in 7th grade and above.

I am one of the only classrooms without a SmartBoard in our school and I have a strong background in technology. I am a new teacher so I understand financially that it is not always possible to have a SmartBoard, but with my background I know how enhancing it would be in my classroom. Every lesson I teach, I have thought of ways I could have enhanced this with the use of a SmartBoard. Technology is extrememly important in classrooms. Students at the age of 5 are surrounded by technology at home, and bypassing some teacher's knowledge of technology. Minnesota classroom's need to be at the same level, if not ahead of 'the game'. Engagement and excitement is so much easier to teach alongside, in comparison to boredom.

I would like to have smart music and a smart board in my classroom but we do not have this available to us.

Need to inform community of what students need to be able to do once they leave our district. Often times, lack of updated technology- reduces what we can expose students to.

Our school does not have enough computers available for me to have all students using computers. The computers we do have do not always recognize the district's wireless access--this frustrates the students and teachers

our infrastructure needs upgrading; funding adequate infrastructure upgrades in important in reducing frustration and providing real-world working environment

I feel I appropriately use a lot of technology in my room, however, I don't think I was able to demonstrate that on this survey as it seemed to be directed more toward teachers of older students. I work with 1st graders and am not able to use much of the technology mentioned in this survey with the, which makes it seem as though I don't use any technology.

While increased technology is available or obtained through grant writing, more training should be available for those that want/need it...not everyone learns everything after a single training. Staff should be proficient in the use of the technology that they need for instruction.

Somewhat lacking, our wireless internet and printer accesibility in the gymnasium is defficient.

In teaching physical education to elementary students I utilize bits and pieces of technology to enhance my student learning and teaching. I do not rely on the technology to be a significant factor in my teachings. Some questions to this survey were very hard to answer because there was not inbetween.

As I am a speech therapist serving birth-4th grade, much of this is not relevant for me.
