ICS I offers an introduction to many computer science principals that will assist students who want to have a career in engineering or computer science. Students will incorporate aspects of sound editing, design, website creation, app creation and computer programming, in addition to various other principals of computer science including cyber safety, copyrights and ethical technology use. The aim of this course is to develop critical skills that students will use throughout their lives. ASSIGNMENT LIST SEMESTER 1 SEMESTER 2 1. Logic 2. Binary 3. Digital Doodle 4. Count Me In 5. Final Project CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS MATERIALS You will need a 1-subject spiral notebook. We will be using this as our Engineering Notebook all year. It would also be beneficial to have a flash drive for this class. WORK ETHIC Be Prepared: Come to class prepared, focused and ready to learn something new in every class. Be Proactive: Engagement and participation in class is required. Don’t be afraid to share your thoughts and ideas. Nobody ever has ALL of the answers! Be Responsible: Ensure that all assignments are submitted according to the deadlines. Class attendance is crucial in order to fully understand the lessons. Be Respectful: Be respectful towards everyone in class. Encourage one another and work as a team. BEHAVIOR This class will REQUIRE a large amount of discussion, communication, and interaction. However, it is my expectation that all students stay ON TASK at all times. If you are NOT on task with your partner, you will loose collaboration points for the assignment.
