Can I structure my work to suit a particular purpose? Can I select the appropriate presentational devices to attract an audience?
Phileas Fogg snacks are a brand of snack products based on snacks from around the world.
The range included small garlic breads ('Mignons Morceaux'), corn based chips/crisps ('Californian Corn Chips'), Mexican tortilla chips and a spicy coated nut based product ('Shanghai Nuts').
Now think about the presentational devices for your design:

Phileas Fogg’s Travel writing
Each bag features a cartoon picture of Phileas Fogg along with a letter from him explaining where in the world he found the particular snack, and the adventures he had trying to acquire it.
For example:
1. Underline all the words you do not understand.
2. Look up these words in the dictionary.
My Dearest Aunt Agatha, I write this as we make the final preparations for our departure from Paris. I sincerely hope that my calculations as to the speed and direction of the wind are correct. As we were making everything secure in the balloon, a pretty French girl in the front of the large and fashionable throng pressing about us proffered me a bag of what I took to be sweet meats. On examination, however, these proved to be a sort of crispy toasted savoury, flavoured with a hint of garlic. After munching two or three, I concluded that even in the simplest matters the French have a way with food superior to that of all nations. Your affectionate and respectful nephew,

ProofreadingYou will need a pencil and a highlighter
1. Read your work out loud to yourself. Listen for the natural pauses and dot them with the highlighter. Now go back over the highlighter dots and decide which type of punctuation they should be.
2. Turn your work upside down. Now read it to yourself. This technique helps you spot missing words and spelling mistakes. Highlight any mistakes or phrases that don’t sound right. (Keep the paper upside down.)Turn your paper back around and use the pencil to try to correct your mistakes.
3. Pass your work to another student that you think could help.Get them to highlight any further mistakes you have missed. They should pass it back to you to correct.
4. Underline two adjectives or verbs that you think sound too simple or a little immature. Look up synonyms for these words.Replace them with synonyms that you think improve the sound of your writing.
Finish the design for the back, keeping to the ideas and themes you used for the front.
Now copy your letter up, with its corrections onto the template on the next page.
