Jo Sercombe - the festival’s president, joins us for the forth year to run the
Big Sing workshop which is open to all, regardless of age, skill or experience.
Jo brings an informal, passionate style to her teaching. Reaching out to
participants, she not only gets them to connect with her, but also with each
other in a quite unique way. Have no doubt that you will feel genuinely inspired,
uplifted and buzzing after the session with Jo!
Lucy Thynne has been dancing for over 20 years. She began teaching in 1999 and has
choreographed for film, theatre and community projects. Lucy holds an Honours Degree in Dance

She will be running the chidren’s dance workshop at 3pm in the hall on Saturday. Any adults who’d
like to join in are very welcome!
Sarah Fisher is based just down the road from Priston at Tilley Farm in Farmborough. She is a
world-renowned expert working with animals (particularly dogs and horses) to help them overcome a
variety of health and behavioural issues. She has co-written ‘The Difficult Horse’ with Karen Bush,
which will be published in October 2012. We are delighted she is coming to give a talk and slide show
in the hall at 1.50pm on Saturday on this facinating subject.

PonchartrainPonchartrain is in Louisiana, and this
band bring an infectious blend of
cajun & country to their energetic
performance. You might even get up
and dance!
World GovernmentThe World Government is a fresh take on what music is and how a band should operate.
Nothing is pre-conceived, written in advance, even verbally discussed or rehearsed. The idea is
to get a group of exciting players together, add an audience and see what happens. This is free
expression, not contrived or formulated. The aim is not merely to jam but to spontaneouly write
music together and thus create musical journeys which develop and evolve. No two gigs are
ever the same but there will usually be flavours of funk, jazz and music of the world.

the evolution of the mandolin from Portugal.
