Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP)
This would be a program set in place to encourage the development of privately owned and funded
businesses. An example may be a low rate interest rate loan from the bank for small businesses EntrepreneurialDevelopment Programme or simply EDP means a program which is designed to help a person in strengthening andfulfilling his entrepreneurial motive and in acquiring skills and capabilities necessary for playing his entrepreneurialrole effectively
An Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP), of 6-8 weeks duration, aims at training the S&Tgraduates and the diploma holders in the essentials of conceiving, planning, initiating and launching an economicactivity or an enterprise successfully.
The programme content includes class room training on essentials of entrepreneurship survey of the prevalent socio - economic scenario, identification of business opportunities, role and function as well as schemes of assistance offered by various constituents of the support system, preparation of a technically feasible andeconomically viable project report, Achievement Motivation Training and also the nuances of management of an
enterprise. Sessions on technology and finance are also arranged, depending upon the nature of project selected.
Special EDPs are being conducted with more emphasis on linkages with R&D institutions to take up projects based on indigenous technologies and services, in the area of high technology, such as leather, plastics, bio-medical equipment, high speed data communication and other emerging areas of technology.
For example, a programme has been undertaken in collaboration with the Institute of Plasma Research, Ahmedabad,for setting up plasma technology-based enterprises.
The Programme and training in technology-related aspects
The project proposals for special EDPs can be submitted by an R&D institution or specialised traininginstitution in entrepreneurship development. In either case the involvement of the other group is mandatory. AllEDPs are conducted by specialised institutions.
Starting a small business can be challenging. Entrepreneurs and small business owners are faced with manyhurdles and sometimes don¶t have the resources they need to help them make tough decisions. The InnovationCenter at Rogers State University has solved this problem by developing an online Entrepreneur DevelopmentProgram.
This program services Oklahoma communities and rural areas. The program will take entrepreneursthrough eleven essential areas of small business ownership. No matter what type of business you are starting or arecurrently involved in, this program is sure to provide a wealth of information.
How the Program Works
The non-credit program includes access to the online course as well as virtual business support through theInnovation Center staff.
Individuals may enroll in the program at any time and proceed at their own pace. Upon completion of the program, they will receive a certificate of completion.
When the program is utilized from beginning to end, participants will be equipped with an overallknowledge of all areas of entrepreneurship

Program Cost
Enrollment in the program is $95 and includes:

Orientation Sessions
Interested participants in the online entrepreneurial program should register to attend an orientation sessiongiven by the Innovation Center staff. These introductory sessions are available monthly at all three locations atconvenient times such as evenings, and weekends. These sessions are free and will provide an overview of thematerial, as well as provide tips for how participants can get the most from the program. Participation in theorientation sessions is not a commitment to program enrollment.

Institute for EDP
The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI), an autonomous and not-for-profit Institute, set up in
1983, is sponsored by apex financial institutions - the IDBI Bank Ltd., IFCI Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd. and State Bank of
India (SBI). The Government of Gujarat pledged twenty-three acres of land on which stands the majestic and
sprawling EDI campus.
EDI¶s success led by its strong sense of commitment culminated in recognition of its achievements by the
Government of India and various state governments. In the international arena, efforts to develop entrepreneurship
by way of sharing resources and organising training programmes, have helped the EDI earn accolades and support
