Surface preperation:

1. Prepare the surface to be sprayed, by removing any dirt or dust from the surface.

2. Remove grease, oil, or wax from the surface by using a high quality cleaner.

3. Abrade the area that you would like to coat using a sanding paper with an 80 or 120 grit. Dust off and clean the surface again.

4. Treat any corrosion with a rust remover and stick to the manufacturers instructions with regard to

the priming. Holes or cuts in metal can be repaired using the VIP Kneadmetal (PKI5130).

5. Bare metal should be treated either by using the VIP Quick prime (aluminium, metal, steel) or a suitable direct to metal (DTM) adhering primer. Please always stick to the manufacturers instructions.

Further preperations:

1. Please mask the area to be coated with a reinforced tape. The reinforced side needs to be on the

side that is to be sprayed, so that you can cut an even edge after completion of spraying the QuickSpray.

2. Now apply standard 2 to 3cm masking tape onto the middle of the reinforced masking tape.

3. Cover all surrounding parts with plastic foil or other suitable masking material (slight overspray).

Assembly and Mechanisms of the gun:

Screw the pressure gauge to the air inlet at the underside of the handle of the gun until it sits tightly. Close the airflow by adjusting the black valve on the spray-pressure-regulator. Open ► ◄ Closed

By use of the red adjusting wheel you can adjust the speed of the piston moving forward. The 1. setting is equivalent to the minimum speed (Min.), and the 8. setting is equivalent to the maximum speed (Max.). Please set the red adjusting wheel to the second highest setting (7. Engagement). With this you have reached the ideal speed of the piston moving forward to apply the POLYUREA QuickSpray materials.

The Finetuning of the air pressure is achieved regulating the silver head at the base of the spray pressure regulator. With a pull on the Trigger you will activate the piston moving forward and thus the spray operation. By pressing the lower square red button Piston drop back and holding it down the piston will shoot back to its original position.

Preparing the cartridge:

1. Shake cartridge well before use. 2. The optimum temperature for spraying POLYUREAS is at approx. 23°C.

3. Always ensure that the cartridge is held upright, also when in the gun, to avoid that the two

components can mix and react before the material is being sprayed.

4. Open the cartridge by unscrewing the cap. Ensure that there is no blockage in the two openings. If necessary remove any dried out material from the opening.

5. Push the static mixer onto the cartridge top and secure it by screwing the black nut on tightly.

Please ensure that the black air-inlet of the sprayhead is facing to the side, on which the hose that connects to the air pressure regulator, is attached.

6. Please check that the black sprayhead is sitting on the mixer tip evenly, as a bad fit might lead to a reduction in spray quality and could cause an unwanted blockage of the opening.

Sraying Quickspray: Please always take necessary personal precautions when working with QuickSpray. Always wear safety goggles, safety gloves as well as a dust particle mask for minimum precaution.

The required air pressure is at approx. 6-8bar (85-116 psi)

Before you start to spray, please have an open container (e.g. an empty carton) at hand (see point4).

Now please insert the prepared cartridge into the gun. Hold the gun vertically at all times, when not spraying. Do not tilt the gun horizontally to avoid that the two components can mix in the mixer tip or that the cartridge can fall out.

1. When the cartridge is loaded correctly in the gun, attach the airline that leads to the air pressure regulator to the side of the mixer tip until it clicks tight. Please listen out for an audible click of the airline, as this ensures a tight fit.

2. Hold the gun upright as always and open the black valve at the air-pressure-regulator to allow the air to flow to the top of the mixer tip.

3. Now tilt the gun horizontally in the direction of the area to be sprayed and pull the trigger. 4. The material will be pushed forward and the air at the tip will start the sprayfan. Before spraying

your parts, please spray into the empty carton for a few seconds to allow the two components to egalise perfectly. If necessary you are also able to adjust the required sprayfan by turning the finetuning regulator on the air pressure valve.

5. As soon as the required sprayfan and a homogenous colour is achieved, please move the gun in the direction of the surface or object that you are wishing to coat.

6. The spray operation has to be continued until the cartridge is empty, or the piece is fully coated - There is a huge chance that the nozzle will block through hardening material, as soon as you take your finger of the trigger and stop the flow of the product (especially when using the 8-15 sec. version)

7. Start coating the surface in continues, even criss cross motion. Apply an even coat in the required thickness. If you would like to add a second coat, go back to the starting point immediately and apply another thin layer over the same surface. A few thin coats will give a much better result than one very thick coat and will also prevent that the material runs on vertical surfaces like walls.

You can influence the texture with 2 deciding factors:

a) Air pressure: - High air pressure = fine texture - Low air pressure = wetter, flatter finish. b) Distance of the gun to the surface:

- short distance = fine texture - bigger distance = developement of overspray and coarser texture . QuickSpray is best applied at a temperature of approx. 23°C and, depending on the POLYUREA type will dry within 8-15 seconds, or 6-8 minutes and can be worked on immediately afterwards. The further chemical crosslinking of the components to achieve full cure continues even, if the material is overcoated immediately or immersed in stray in materials like quarz sand or chips. If you would like a thicker total coating, please ensure that you add further coats within one hour of the first coating. If you wait longer, please sand the original coat and clean again before adding another coat.

The cartridge can be reused if it is not empty. Please remove the hardened mixer nozzle from the cartridge and reseal the cartridge by screwing on the original cap. Please ensure that you place the cap in the original way, to prevent a reaction of the components in the cap. If you have to interrupt the coating application, just exchange the old nozzle with a fresh mixing nozzle. Afterwards just restart the spraying process (see above).

Finishing work:

1. Please let the Coating dry through for at least 30-60 minutes, before removing the masking

tape. The wire of the reinforced tape will help you to achieve an even edge.

2. To do this, please remove the wire from the reinforced tape, as it helps to remove the masking tape from the surface. Pliers with a thin point are well suited to remove the wire.

3. Finally remove the masking foil or any remaining masking tape from the surface.
