Q4 Elissa is applying the colour and notices a tear in one of her gloves. Elissa should:

    a) ignore it and continue applying the colour as quickly as she can.

    b) ask Matt to bring her a new glove to put on.

    c) remove the torn glove and keep applying the colour.

    d) try to avoid getting any colour on that finger.

Q5 Matt is busy shampooing hair. On a busy day he has one shampoo after another. Matt’s hands are constantly in water and shampoo and his skin is starting to crack and become very red and sore. As it is very busy, Matt should:

    a) have a break in between shampoos to give his hands a rest.

    b) ask someone else to take over the shampooing.

    c) wear the appropriate gloves

for shampooing. d) make a complaint to the

    salon manager.

Q6 Matt has noticed that his hands are becoming sensitive and he’s worried he may be developing dermatitis. To help prevent this, which of the following actions could he take between tasks?

    a) Keep his hands dry. b) Apply a barrier cream for protection prior to wet work.

    b) Have dry gloves ready for the next task.

    c) All of the above.

Q7 Elissa has asked Matt for help with a perm. Help Matt decide if he should wear gloves.

    a) As this is a chemical service, Matt should always wear protective gloves.

    b) Even though this is a chemical service, Matt only needs to wear gloves when his hands are in bad condition.

    c) Matt only needs to wear gloves if the chemical service is a tint because tint will stain his hands. This isn’t a tint so he doesn’t need to bother with gloves.

    d) Matt doesn’t need to wear gloves if he applies a barrier cream to stop the chemical from penetrating his skin.
