The 46th AnnualWilliam K. Ishmael Rheumatology SymposiumThe Annual William K. Ishmael Symposium will be presented virtually through Zoom by the Department of Medicine, Section of Rheumatology from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., September 18.

The symposium aims to disseminate the latest in basic and clinical rheumatologic research to healthcare providers in the state of Oklahoma. This one-day event will feature a range of subject experts, including University of Oklahoma College of Medicine faculty as well as distinguished guest presenters.

Presentations will include a “meet the professor” session, conducted in a small-group discussion format. Interesting cases from first-hand clinical experience promise to be informative and beneficial.

Intended/Target Audience:Family Medicine, General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Hematology, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Medical Education, Oncology, Pathology, Pharmacy, Preventive Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Radiology/Imaging, Research, Urology.

Learning Objectives:Upon completion of this activity, participants will improve their competency and performance by being able to:

1. Discuss the new diagnostics and treatments for autoimmune myositis.

2. Describe the role of netosis in SLE and APLS.

3. Discuss new therapeutic options for autoimmune lung disease.

4. Identify unusual manifestations and complications of autoimmune disease.

5. Discuss new diagnostics and therapeutics for psoriatic arthritis.
