SUMMARY:5 years of Software Development experience in the field of Computer Networking

OBJECTIVE:Seeking an opportunity relevant to my skill set and interest.

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    CISCO SYSTEMS INC. Bangalore, India

Software Engineer [Grade 8] May 06 Present

Job profile: As a member of the SMBU mobile gateway development team designed and

implemented several key features across various products

Played a pivotal role in Interoperability tests conducted for mobile gateway

products with certain base station partners

Mentored and supervised junior team members at San Jose and Bangalore

Served on the recruitment panel and helped induct new engineers

Participated in the evolution of new global wireless standards [Wimax]

Actively involved in handling customer related issues

    Work profile:

    Product line:HA [HomeAgent]

Mobile IP technology makes access technologies transparent and allows a

constant connection for mobile users, independent of their location and the type of

infrastructure. The Cisco Mobile Wireless Home Agent (HA) serves as ananchor point for subscribers, providing easy, secure roaming with quality-of-service

(QoS) capabilities to optimize the mobile user experience. The Cisco Mobile

Wireless Home Agent works in conjunction with a foreign agent and mobile nodeto provide an efficient Mobile IP solution. The Mobile Wireless Home Agent

enables wireless packet data networking on third generation wireless systems. It

allows mobile users to access the Internet and Intranets as well as WAP services.

    Project synopsis:

    SingleIP

The project involves managing the homeagent gateway on a per-blade basisthereby resulting in a factor-of-n decrease in operational complexity compared

to the presentation of n individual processors per blade.

    Language: C,Platform: Cisco proprietary

Designed, developed and implemented the Intra Chassis Configuration Sync

feature. This feature involves syncing all configurations from an Active HA unit to the

Standby HA unit in a Intra Chassis redundancy framework using SCTP as its

    underlying protocol.

    Project Synopsis:

    HomeAgent 4.0

The project involved adding additional feature sets to the Mobile IP stack residingon the Homeagent gateway.

    Language: C,Platform: Cisco proprietary

    Role:

Designed and implemented the MIPLAC feature

MIP-LAC feature enables the corporate network to have VPDN connections for

handling incoming dialup connections. This is achieved by encapsulating

incoming packets with PPP Header in L2TP tunnel. HA/LAC sets up the L2TPtunnel to corporate LNS and maps MIP session to a PPP session within a L2TP

    tunnel.

Fixed many generic issues pertaining to the 3GPP2 Mobile IP stack

    Product line:

    ASNGW

The Wimax based ASN GW provides access gateway functions betweenthe 802.16e wireless domain and the IP network. It is the first hop IP router from

the users perspective and provides NAS and Accounting client capabilities for

interaction with AAA servers. The ASN GW supports Access Networkauthentication and security functions. The ASN GW provides local mobility

anchor capability, so that users can move between base-stations. The ASN GW

also caches authentication and security identification to accommodate fast

roaming of users across base-stations or across GWs.

    Project Synopsis:

    Release1.0

The project involved implementing the basic ASNGW functionalities like

    authentication, DHCP etc.

    Language: C,Platform: Cisco proprietary

    Role:

Designed and implemented the DHCP Relay functionality

The DHCP relay is resident in the ASN GW, and interacts with an external DHCPserver. After successful authentication and setup of the Initial Service Flow, the

MS triggers DHCP to acquire an IP address. The DHCP messages are transported

transparently over the R6 data path between the BS and the ASN GW.

Ported and developed the DHCP Client functionality

    3/4

The DHCP client functionality resides on the simulator test tool which is designed

to emulate the MS and BS behavior. After successful MS authentication by the

ASNGW, the client functionality is triggered to initiate an IP address requisition.

Designed and implemented the Inter-Base Station handoff functionality

This feature resides on the simulator and emulates the handoff scenario when themobile migrates across different base stations associated with the same gateway

    LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES Bangalore, India

Senior Software Engineer Sep. 04 May 06

    Job profile:

Actively involved in protocol development on ATM based switches

Organized and conducted weekly group discussions and seminars to augment thetechnical knowledge base of the team members

Mentored junior team members Served as Lucents official entry into the global IPV6 community representing

    them in several technical summits

    Work profile:Product line:

    PSAX

PSAX is a switch providing ATM based L2/L3 functionalities. It is stationed at

the edge of an ATM cloud and also provides IP service connectivity for all theATM based elements within the cloud.

    Project Synopsis:SecondaryIn-Band Management

This basically involves Network management using IP over ATM. The feature

enables an user in an IP cloud to access an ATM based switch even in

case of a port failure by performing fault detection and switchover.Language: C,Platform: Linux

    Role:

Designed and implemented the secondary In-Band management feature

    Project Synopsis:

BFD [ Bidirectional Forwarding Detection]The project involved developing the BFD protocol to prevent traffic outage by

ensuring a switchover to the redundant unit in case of failure detection.

Language: Xscale, Platform: Intel IXP 2400 NPU

    Role:

Designed and implemented the BFD protocol
