Icons
This system of icons was created with some of the same tasks in mind as the AIGA style of icons for use in
Old Library. However, the AIGA visu-al language was abandoned and a
new style was established for the set to pertain to.

Figure Ground
Using the AIGA set of icons, abstract patterns were created by use of fig-ure ground reversal. Abstracting the
original intent of the icon to create equal positive and negative space
required attention to detail and understanding of spacial interaction
and relationships.

Mapping Kingston, NY presented visual problems that needed to be
solved in a manor that was easily understandable and also maintain in-tuitive interaction. This map of visual and performing arts establishments
would hypothetically be placed at each location on the map and in-
clude a monthly schedule of events and happenings. This map would
encourage art enthusiasts in Kings-ton to explore other sites and attend
events affiliated with them.

This is a visual representation of data that would otherwise be more com-plicated to understand. This poster
would hypothetically be hung in a bike shop, cafe, or other location
where people have potential waiting time. During this time viewers would
have the opportunity to stop and look closer, being informed about
bicyclist trends in the United States and view bicycling in a positive light.
