Programme Rundown

Apr, 2014

{The Idea} The group will split into three teams of 5-6 people. Each team will create a set of pictures to express their idea about a certain topic. For example:

“What does innovation mean to you?”

Can you spot Converse inside the picture? What does the picture mean?Hint: These are power sockets!

{The Rundown}

Time Procedure Description

14:00-14:20 Warm up and

briefing

The group will do a warm-up game to wake up their

visual and creative mind. Then they will be briefed

about the mission.

14:20-14:40 Brainstorming The teams will brainstorm a pool of ideas to express

their understanding of the topic.

14:40-15:00 Group

reflection

The ideas are posted, sorted and explained inside the

whole group, so that they will have a collective

understanding on the topic.

15:00-15:15 Concept

sketch

Back to their different teams, they will sketch the picture

concept by using the ideas just shared.

15:15-16:15 Drawing When the picture concept is nearly ready, the teams will

proceed to the real drawing.

16:15-16:45 Presentation Now it’s show time!

16:45-17:00 Check out and

photo-op

Every one will reflect the feelings and their connection

with other people inside the activity.

Don’t forget to take a good shot!

Before entering the exact process, the group will do a warm up first!

Then they will create rough sketch of their picture ideas, discuss, revise and find reference pictures from the web.

We will have a group reflection and let the teams put up all their picture ideas on the wall, do some sorting, and see if they show some shared patterns of thinking.

Each group will receive a set of six canvasses (or large sheets of mural paper) and they are free to use them in any combination they like in order to present their ideas.

When the sketch is ready, they can start doing the colour. All the paint and tools are ready to use. (They will use marker pen and colour chalk if drawing on mural paper.) Our facilitators will also walk them through the drawing process.

Gradually, the pictures become more and more beautiful!

If the teams sketch on large mural paper, they can even express more complicated ideas with text.

When the pictures are done, each team will present their picture story in turn. Hopefully, we shall discover the craziest ideas from the innovative minds in the game!

It’s not about how great the pictures will look, but about how much they have shared among their minds.

It’s important for the group to feel connected and the check-out time will uncover a lot of such emotions which are usually not expressed in the workplace.
