If you’re going on a trip with kids, fill out our Vacation Bag
form at the Youth Services Desk and we’ll put together a bag of
books and movies, along with a video camera and DVD player
for your kids to enjoy for the length of your vacation.
Gale Travel Guides
Going on vacation and need to plan
your trip? Or maybe you’re already
there and need to look something up?
Our Gale Travel Guides database will help!
Gale Travel Guides has access to numerous travel guides from both DK Eyewitness
Travel and Rough Guides. Locations covered are the U.S., Canada, Mexico and
parts of the Caribbean.
When perusing the database from your computer or device, you can view the text
version or the pdf of the actual guide. There is also the option to download the pdf
to your eReader, so you can take the information with you without having to pack
the actual book!
Other features include the option to listen to the guidebook while in the database or
download the mp3 to listen later, as well as options to print or save to your
computer.
Does this database sound helpful?
If so, check out Gale Travel Guides on
the database page on the Library’s website:
http://www.elmwoodparklibrary.org/

If you access Gale Travel Guides from home, just remember to have your
Elmwood Park Library Card on hand so you can log in with your barcode number!

Have you tried one of our book bundles?
What is a book bundle? We pick a theme,
then choose 3 books with that theme to
bundle together. We usually take a newer
book and pair it with some similar, older
books that you might not know about but we
know you’ll love!
Just look for the bundles on the display cart
in the back of the Young Adult section!
Don’t see one with the theme you want? Just
ask us and we’ll create one for you!
Did you know we have a Teen Literary
Magazine? Issue #1 came out in the spring.
We are now taking submissions for Issue #2
until September 24.
What can you submit? We will take stories,
poems, artwork, photography, and book/movie/
music reviews. Questions? Just ask Kim.
