Ocean Beach Celebrating 125 Year Anniversary
When you reach the end of Interstate 8 and follow the sign thatsays “Sunset Cliffs Blvd.,” you will find the eclectic little beach townof Ocean Beach, or “OB,” as named by the locals. This laid-backcommunity has the feel of a small town surrounded by a big city— or as “Obecians” like to say, “OB is an attitude, not an address.”Join in the fun as Ocean Beach celebrates 125 years.
Strolling down Newport Avenue (the heart of the business dis-trict), you’ll find everything from unique boutiques to killer surfshops — not to mention the largest antique district in SanDiego. Take surf lessons or rent a bicycle from one of the localshops. Look down at the sidewalks and read the personal mes-sages on the engraved tiles lining the street and you’ll read talesof a loving community.
For a real taste of local flavor, visit the OB Farmers Market, voted “Best in the State” by Sunset Magazine. Held every Wednesdayafternoon for 20 years, this weekly event transforms the street intoa marketplace of fresh fruit, vege tables, fragrant flowers, hand-made crafts, and delightful people watching. Whether searchingfor a local tavern or quiet café, you’ll find it in this beach town.
In addition to the entertaining business district, OB boasts someof the best scenery in San Diego. Awarded “Best Place to Watchthe Sunset” by the San Diego Reader, OB offers the exceptionalbeauty of Sunset Cliffs National Park and the longest concretepublic fishing pier on the West Coast, where locals and visitorscatch awe-inspiring views of the surf and sunset.
Traveling with your four-legged friend? You’re in luck. OceanBeach is also home to world famous Dog Beach, a leash-freeparadise for your dog. From there, take your dog to a dog wash, then stay in one of our dog-friendly hotels.
If you’re lucky enough to visit OB during the summer, you mayfind yourself in the midst of the annual OB Street Fair and ChiliCook-Off Festival on the fourth Saturday of June at the end ofJune. This fun-for-all event features live music on numerousstages, arts and crafts, and lots of fun food. If you stick around forthe fourth of July, you’ll catch the famous OB Fireworks. Best ofall, though, you’ll see this small beach town in full bloom.
If you wish to sample Ocean Beach before your travels, visitOceanBeachSanDiego.com, where you can preview our littletown through a live beachside webcam and find informationabout where to stay and where to go during your stay.
We hope to see you soon!

Discover the Treasuresof the Peninsula
Point Loma has so much to offer! One of the best sportfishingfleets on the West Coast: half-day, full-day and up to three-weektrips to Mexican waters!
Where else can you have suburban-like living with easy accessto the airport, downtown, Mission Bay, SeaWorld and the worldfamous San Diego Zoo?
Cabrillo National Monument recently completed an exten-sive upgrade of the area around the lighthouse. On a clear day,the views are breathtaking, from the second-most visited nationalpark in the U.S. (behind only the Statue of Liberty). It also featuresone of the most interesting tidepools on the West Coast andboasts the best place to watch the migration of the gray whales.
With Liberty Station complete, the combination of a place tolive, work and play among the beautiful historic homes and build-ings is a great destination point for the entire region.
Shelter Island is a place with some of the best restaurants inthe city and great recreational areas for picnicking, boating, walk-ing/jogging and enjoying concerts with “big name” entertainers.
Many beautiful, custom homes and gardens are also located inPoint Loma. It is indeed one of the best locations in “America’sFinest City!”

America’s Finest City — and nowhere in our seaside metropolis isthat more true than in its bustling coastal communities.
With something for everyone, from art aficionados and wine en-thusiasts to club goers and history buffs, visitors can find it all.
As San Diegans are well aware, our city’s neighborhoodshave distinct characters all their own. Ocean Beach is a worldaway from La Jolla, which is a world away from Hillcrest.
For those looking for a vibrant-yet-homey feel, head on over toLittle Italy. This colorful neighborhood offers some of San Diego’sbest Italian food and friendliest Italian people, with lively events al-most every month of the year. Visitors are almost guaranteed tofind some kind of celebration here, be it the Sicilian Festival, theGesso Italiano (Italian chalk art festival) or the Taste of Little Italy.
For a little maritime history and great boutique shopping, visitorscan’t go wrong at the Embarcadero. Get your exercise walkingthrough museums such as the Star of India ship and the USSMidway and shopping at Seaport Village. A plethora of out-door public art draws residents and tourists alike, while the con-vention center is a major hub for everything from industryconventions to the world-famous Comic-Con. Nearby, there’sBalboa Park. Known as the “Smithsonian of the West” for its ex-pansive assortment of museums and cultural institutions, this gemoffers something for everyone at places like the Old Globe The-atre, the Museum of Man, the Reuben H. Fleet Science Cen-ter and the celebrated San Diego Zoo.
The cultural celebration doesn’t end there. There is also OldTown San Diego — the birthplace of California. Old Town is acolorful world of fun and entertainment, steeped in history as theCalifornia cradle where the first Europeans settled. The finest inprofessional theater, artisans, galleries and shops are within easywalking distance, with free live entertainment, mariachis, dancers,period-attire docents providing tours and more than 150 shops,award-winning restaurants, 17 museums and historical sites — alljust a short walk from the San Diego Trolley Transit Center.
A stone’s throw from here is Liberty Station, another vibrantand ever-growing community that was once the Naval TrainingCenter (NTC) — the heart of recruit training for the entire U.S.Navy. Today, Liberty Station is a civilianized community of mixeduses, including a diverse and well-planned retail and commercialdistrict, a promenade that now serves as a mecca for the city’sarts and cultural interests, an educational district, a residential dis-trict, a hotel district, an office district and a park/open space areaalong the boat channel. The NTC Promenade includes a series ofhistoric buildings being renovated for the display of arts, sci-ence, culture and technology. It houses theater groups, dancecompanies, museums, galleries and classes of many kinds.

Our burgers are crafted with the finest beef on the planet. We onlyuse grain-fed cattle; all natural, no hormones, fillers or antibiotics, andmost importantly they run free in the fields. Our prime beef is dry aged, blended and ground fresh. The beef is only one component, but it'sthe canvas we use. The buns are made for us locally and deliveredfresh every day. The tomatoes are the finest available. Lastly, the burg-ers are grilled to temperature over an open flame -- not fried on apiece of stainless steel. We present to you not a fast food place, not amass production burger operation, but a "joint" -- one that you canmake your own, stay awhile and enjoy the food.
