DESCRIPTION
Directions: Level 1: Show your child the card for about 20 seconds. Turn the card away. Have your child remember as many pictures as they can. They should recall the pictures in any order. Level 2: Show your child the card for about 20 seconds. Turn the card away. Have your child recall the pictures in order from left to right, top to bottom (just like reading a book!). Level 3: Show your child the card for about 20 seconds. Turn the card away. Have your child recall the pictures in order from left to right, top to bottom. Then ask your child details about each picture. (Ex: “What flavor of juice is in the juice box?” or “What shape makes up the lightning bolt’s eyes?”) Level 4: Show your child the card for about 20 seconds. Turn the card away. Have your child describe where the pictures are located on the card. (Ex: “The jack-in-the box is on the top row, middle column” or “To the right of the books are the cards.”) After all places of pictures are given, proceed with asking detail questions like in level 3. *Remember, these are guidelines not rules. This game not only strengthens visual memory, but also helps with remembering details, making connections, finding patterns, and directional language.
*Print off and cut out these cards to use at home or in a classroom setting. Laminate the cards for extra durability. You may need to print onto thick paper, so the student cannot see through the card. Add your own cards to increase difficulty!
