Saturday, March 01, 2014. This is the only thing that reminds me of NY and I love it because it is also convenient and necessary! I always rely on a few shots

of espresso to keep me going. Hoping that UTSA opens another location so that I could avoid the long lines.

Sunday, March 02, 2014. I have my tickets to NY and I am thrilled about it. I haven’t returned since I moved to San Antonio, which would be four semesters

ago. I’m going to spend some well overdue time with my lovely mother. I’m looking forward to a wonderful week away from everything.

Monday March 03, 2014. Last semester I worked as an intern for The UTSA Discovery Magazine and today my supervisor, the graphic designer, and I went out for a celebratory meal at the Macaroni Grill. I always love eating great food

and this restaurant never fails to disappoint me.

Tuesday, March 04, 2014. I received the results for my comprehensive examination and I believed a well-deserved frappe was in order. It was an

incredible sigh of relief, but as my advisor pointed out, the battle is not completely over and I have to do my best for the defense examination. Cheers to seeing this thing through! It has been a long journey, but I’m ready to move

on to the next episode.

Wednesday, March 05, 2014. I know that I’ve already posted a picture similar to this one, but I felt the need to do so again. We worked on a feminist piece for a New Media Art Showcase last semester. I didn’t know these women prior to the course, but we immediately connected and we’ve been hanging out ever since. We encourage and motivate each other to be our best and to be bold, always.

Thursday, March 06, 2014. I’m sure by now, you’ve realized that I LOVE food! I found out that I will be moving on to the Defense Examination earlier during the

week and we decided to celebrate with some great Thai food at my favorite Thai restaurant, RockSan. It’s a small business with delicious cuisine. If you’re

up for a vegetarian option, try the Lad Nah. It’s absolutely delicious, rich in flavor, and a perfect combination between sweet and spicy!

Friday, March 07, 2014. I missed my flight to New York and while waiting at the airport, I received this email from one of the members of my Comprehensive Examination committee congratulating me once again on my Defense Exam

this morning. I feel relieved and humbled #gratitude6903

Monday, March 10, 2014. Brooklyn, NY. Spent the day at the plaza and then had dinner at home with my mom and Ray. Here we are enjoying each others’ company. We’ve been having a blast here in New York and we’re both longing

to return back to Brooklyn. As the saying goes, home is where the heart is.

Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Park Slope Barnes and Noble. Brooklyn, NY. I took a stroll through Park Slope and stopped at my favorite Barnes and Noble. I glanced through the aisles and of course stopped by to look over their selection

on Feminist/LGBT section. I also couldn’t help but indulge in the Starbucks chocolate cheesecake.

Thursday, March 13, 2014. Brooklyn, New York. My mom baked cookies! She is an amazing woman, a complete inspiration, and she made a wonderful batch

of cookies for my trip back to San Antonio.

witness this beautiful awakening of the day.

Saturday, March 15, 2014. One of my professors recommended this textbook to me and I finally got it in the mail! It has been so helpful with work and school

and I’m sure it will continue to do so long after I’m done with academia.

Sunday, March 16, 2014. I have an amazing family. They’ve supported me and my academic career and have always been there for me. I’m looking forward to

seeing them for my second graduation.

Monday, March 17, 2014. Spring is here and I’m thrilled! Today I noticed two students relaxing in hammocks on campus. I wished that spring break could’ve

been longer. Although I’m completely burned out from this semester, I look forward to spring weather.

Tuesday, March 18, 2014. My new purse came in today and I’m looking forward to wearing it. I treated myself to something that I wanted and deserved after the

long and busy semester that I’ve had.

Wednesday, March 19, 2014. I love fruit and I’m happy that the JPL food court offers me options. The food court seems crowded with fast food chains offering

pizza and french fries and lacks quality and healthier options, especially for vegetarians such as myself.

Thursday, March 20, 2014. These slip on shoes are so comfortable. I love being able to wear them on the go. I’m really considering widening my comfy

shoes closet and invest in more TOMS.

Friday, March 21, 2014. Suck It Hookah, San Antonio, TX. Ray is off today and we went out for some delicious bubble tea. My favorite flavors include passion fruit and mango, as well as white chocolate and strawberries. I would definitely

recommend Suck It Hookah if you’re in the mood for something sweet.

semester. I felt a little less burned out and completely content.

Sunday, March 23, 2014. I web chatted with my family today via Google Hangout and got to catch up. This image shows my adorable nephew J.E. and his beautiful mom. He is so playful, lively, and incredibly sweet. I can’t wait to

visit them in El Paso.

Tuesday, March 25, 2014. I love this lip tint! I haven’t worn lipstick as often as I used to and I found these lip tints help moisturize and give a splash of color all

at once.

Thursday, March 27, 2014. I always try to purchase organic fruits and vegetables when I do grocery shopping. I wish there were wider selections in the neighboring grocery stores, but I’m glad they do stock up on strawberries.
