Vita Global is at the forefront of ground-breaking sustainable solutions to end poverty: we believe a key component of economic development is providing entrepreneurs access to global markets.

We had the privilege of advising award-winning global entrepreneurs on financial management and business growth strategies; including traveling to Capetown, South Africa, for our fourth consecutive African trip to advise women owners of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

On behalf of WEConnect International and sponsorship by ExxonMobil Foundation, our Monitoring & Evaluation work for WEConnect International

provided a framework to measure and track their progress in connecting women owned SMEs to U.S. corporation supply chains.

Simply put, we help for-profits make money with a purpose and help nonprofits position themselves for more funding to increases their impact.

We are very excited to report that we became a Benefit Corporation (registered in Virginia) and a Certified Benefit Corporation®! We wanted to ensure

Vita Global uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems for generations to come.

We want to thank you for your belief in us and the limitless opportunities we provide to entrepreneurs across the globe.

My influences growing up were my grandfather who shared his world travel experiences and my father who modeled how to empower people.

I remember my father asking me as a young professional, “What are you doing to alleviate global poverty?” Consequently, I spent my entire career addressing his question.

Even though I had a big vision, I am still amazed how in 5 years, we have formed a global company that is employing people from around the world and engaging in projects of impact! This journey has not been without major sacrifices, and I appreciate how my family provided me with encouragement and support during difficult times. Thanks to those who joined Vita Global and helped propel it to the unique status we enjoy as a Certified Benefit Corporation®.

Vita Global is part of my legacy. I want to help shape the next generation of entrepreneurs who are in-tune to the deep needs in the world, motivated by a purpose greater than themselves, driven by values, and engaged in using their businesses to collaborate with others to create a better life in the world around them. I am humbled. I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to engage in such life changing work.

They then partner with her to make that vision a reality. Through long-term investments that expand her skills, connections and visibility, they accelerate her efforts. Solutions That WorkBusiness ExpansionWe are experts in how to grow your business. We perform financial and digital diagnostics and implement simple solutions designed to grow and expand your company or organization.

WECONNECT INTERNATIONAL

We are part of an initiative to connect women business owners to global opportunities with our global partner, WEConnect International.

We created the framework for thousands of female global entrepreneurs to connect to the global supply chain as outlined by the Clinton Global Initiative.

In 2013, the Clinton Global Initiative set out on a mission to bring together leaders from the business, government and civil society sectors to develop solutions for economic growth, long-term

competitiveness and social mobility for countries around the world. Vita Global was hired by WEConnect International, to help CGI achieve this five-year mission. WEConnect International outlined how Vita Global created the framework to monitor and evaluate these global entrepreneurs who we prepared to do business with companies who agreed to a $1.8 billion spend.

Good news! Vita Global helped them achieve this five-year Clinton Global commitment to connect women entrepreneurs to global supply chains in just two years!

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

From WEConnect International“WEConnect’s network is comprised of corporations and women owned businesses from

95 countries. Since incorporating in 2009, WEConnect has trained 6,600 women business

owners, registered 3,900 in our global network, certified over 600 women owned businesses

and from 2013–2015 our global members tracked $3 billion USD spend with women owned

businesses.

“Vita Global’s work with WEConnect International has helped us tell our story with these

metrics. In 2013, Vita Global started working with us to track our outputs and standardize

our language and definitions around our theory of change and deliverables. Vita Global’s

hands on approach with our program staff in Washington, DC, and around the world made a

huge difference in our ability to measure our achievements in the field. That Vita Global can

communicate with our Latin American team in Spanish is a huge plus!

“As a result of Vita Global’s efforts, WEConnect International has a standard

methodology for our funders, which helped us streamline the proposal and reporting process.

We can now track and compare standard outputs on a monthly/quarterly basis, which helps

us effectively evaluate our work in the field and give support to make changes quickly.

Equally important is our ability to communicate our successes to corporate members, key

stakeholders and women owned businesses in the network.

“With Vita Global’s help we were able to deliver on a five year Clinton Global Initiative

commitment with multinational partners in just two years! By 2020, we expect to increase the

amount of spend with women business owners to $20 Billion USD or 2% of global spend and

the framework Vita Global helped us create will continue to assist us to help us measure and

track our success.”

Golf: The Game of Life

IMPACTFUL STORY

I started playing golf to obtain a level of competency of a game my grandfather encouraged me to take up before he died in 1985. What I did not anticipate was the life lessons, friendships and business contacts that would ensue.

LIFE LESSONS

Amazing how trying to hit a little white ball in a small cup many yards away could be life changing. You see, golf is a complicated sport and it is inevitable that you will hit a shot that doesn’t do what you intend (how surprising, huh?).

My reaction to the “imperfect” shot revealed how uneasy I feel and act when things don’t go my way. I would never say it out loud to anyone; but my secret desire is that when I hit the ball of life, I want it to go where it will make me happy so my next shot is easier.

Guess what? Life doesn’t turn out the way we intend many times and it’s our reaction to these “shanked” balls that determines our ability to overcome obstacles.

FRIENDSHIPS

I can tell you without question that the amazing social exchange that happens during a round of golf cannot be properly expressed in this article. What I can tell you is a bond is taking place as we grapple together with our inner selves around this crazy game for nearly five hours! The friends in the pictures helped me see things differently in areas of my life that I tend to be closed about and for that I’m grateful.

BUSINESS CONTACTS

It is true that business is taking place on the golf course. I met my nutritionist, personal trainer, massage therapist and clients through this amazing game!

Conversely, the game is so revealing of one’s personality that I made decisions NOT to do business with a person due to their behavior on the course. The game of golf reveals character and you can get an idea of how a person does business by watching how they handle the stress of this game! Me included!

Life doesn’t turn out the way we intend many times and it’s our reaction to these “shanked” balls that determines our ability to overcome obstacles.
