Common Questions

Yes, it does not use the same profile configuration store. It already stores the configuration for

the managed VMs on the KSYS VM.

The VM agent packages are only available for AIX & Linux today. They allow the KSYS to do

additional monitoring at the VM level or the application level.

The discovery process may take a little bit longer but unlike clustered environments there is no

special customized set up or actively running standby LPARs.

True ”Mission Critical workloads” are typically better suited with a cluster configuration.

• VMR HA is installed on an AIX partition that

provides the KSYS cluster functionality. The

KSYS cluster is configured as type “HA”

• KSYS is the Orchestrator that will act on the VMs

containing the managed cores in the host group

• The default behavior is for automated VM restart

on Host failure. Advisory mode may be enabled.

• Admin moves the VMs via LPM or via restart to

another system in the VMR HA host group

• There can be up to 12 systems in the host group

and up to ~ 300 VMs can be managed by KSYS
