● Problem with powering– Replacement of LDOs

● Changes needed on adapter card– Switch HDMI lines for master/slave

Problems:

1. Current adapter card/FEC cannot provide enough power for more than about 2-4 VMMs

→ external power supply but, want to keep flexibility to power few VMMs directly from FEC

Problems:

1. Current adapter card/FEC cannot provide enough power for more than about 2-4 VMMs

→ external power supply but, want to keep flexibility to power few VMMs directly from FEC

2. Not enough signal lines in HDMI cable for 4 VMMs

→ free lines by removing power

→ Master/salve only with external power or box

Summary

Summer students had a significant impact on advancement of the project→ see their talks

● VMM3 is ready! Test systems exist and they were used in test beams, VMM3a will come soon

● Hardware design about to be completed

● Firmware operational but still needs improvements

● Reminder: VMM hybrid will have new connector!
