Synonym is a word that means the same as another word, such as bucket and pail.
Antonym is a word that means the opposite of another word.
Homonym is a word pronounced and spelt the same as another, but having a different meaning such as novel [a book] and novel [new].
Homophone is a word pronounced the same as another but having a different meaning or spelling or both, such as bare and bear.
