Task 2: Global Literacy Skills Development

- Students must actively read an article from the news. - Students will then highlight the article, noting the most important parts. - Finally, students will write a 1-2 paragraph summary of the article, OR, they may “create a quiz” by writing 7 questions, and 7 answers, about the article. **COLLEGE PREP/HONORS – MUST DO BOTH*** HONORS – MUST DO 2 ARTICLES

NOTE: Quiz questions must be written in complete sentences.- Students must turn in article with their work.

Rules:1. NO sports, articles about actors, singers, television, movies, music. In other words, it must be “current events”, not lifestyle, sports, or entertainment.2. Article MUST be 10+ paragraphs long.3. You MUST write your summaries/questions in your own words!4. Students may NOT “share” articles.5. You may use the following sources. They can be “hard” copies, or you can print articles from the sources’ websites:
