College. There are small sporadic nursing homes in Sagar. The private set up of
hospitals was at times (1991) was initiated by devotion of DR Anil Khare and Dr Mrs C K
Khare through a limited company. The hospital named Lokpriya hospital was
inaugurated by Mr Sunil Dutt in September 19, 1991. The hospital continued for 10 years
when it landed into a dispute between owners and MPFC. Resultantly it was closed in
2001. Thereafter none dared to take major step for private healthcare set up.

being its part.
History
The ancient indian kingdom of Chedi had its capital as "Suktimati", which is located in
Sagar in contemporary times.
Sagar owes its importance to having been made the capital of
the Maratha governorGovind Pant Bundele who established himself here in 1735. By a
treaty concluded with the Maratha Peshwa in 1818, at the conclusion of the Third Anglo-
Maratha War, the greater part of the present district was made over to the British. The
town became the capital of the Saugor and Nerbudda Territories, then attached to
theNorth-Western Provinces. The Saugor and Nerbudda Territories later became part of
the Central Provinces (afterwards Central Provinces and Berar) and Sagar District was
added to Jabalpur Division. During the Revolt of 1857 the whole district was in the
possession of the rebels, except the town and fort, in which the British were shut up for
eight months, until relieved by Sir Hugh Rose. The rebels were totally defeated and
British rule restored by March, 1858. In the early 20th century Sagar had a British
cantonment, which contained a battery of artillery, a detachment of a European
regiment, a native cavalry and a native infantry regiment. Upon India's independence in
1947, the formerCentral Provinces and Berarbecame the Indian state ofMadhya
Pradesh.
Geography
Sagar has an average elevation of 594 metres (1948 feet) and a total area of 6375 km

rail stations linking northern India to South and Central India. These are the Katni and
Bina Railway Stations. The Bina Railway Station falls on Delhi-Bhopal Rail Route, while
Katni is on the Allahabad-Itarasi rail route. Bina falls under the Sagar District and is just 1

180km to Jabalpuron state-highway, about 70km to Bina (a rail head on main north-
south India rail route), and about 200km to Khajuraho a well known tourist destination
with an airport. The way to Jhansi from Sagar is being newly built and it a treat to the
drivers for driving on that massive highway. It takes just a day to reach New Delhi from
Sagar. The route is SagarLalitpurJhansiGwaliorAgraMathuraFaridabadNew
Delhi. However, a night halt is advisable at Gwalior. From Sagar, one can visit Bhopal,
Sanchi stupa, Khajuraho, Kanha forest at ease by vehicle either self-driven or by a
driver. The Sagar city is a small place, so travelling from one place to the other does not
take much time. Autos are there, but frequented by scooty and bikes and four-wheelers
as well. Long distance buses are available from Sagar to Bhopal, Jhansi, Damoh,
Jabalpur, Gwalior, Banda.
Airways
Nearest airports with regular domestic flights are at Jabalpur, Bhopal. Khajuraho another
airport is an international air port. Each of these airports are nearly 180200 km from
Sagar. It takes 35 hours by road to these airports. There is also a air-strip at
Dhana(15km) which has been proposed to be expanded.
Entertainment spots
Sagar is full of entertainment. Everyday you wake up here, you will find a new sort of
entertainment. Some cool place to visit here are the Parks. One is located near the bus
stop in front of Govt. Girls College. The lake on the side of lakha banzaara lake is more
beautiful as it provides the full view of the great lake and the hills behind it. There are
also some parks at the Civil Lines. The city is full of Mosques and Temples (Hindu and
Jain). The Jaama Masjid at the Katra Square and the Hanumaan Temple near the
Kachhahari. There is also a great temple at Macronia. The city also have a Stadium, A

Cinema halls are the Alankaar Talkies, The Cine City and The Manohar Talkies. They
play the latest Bollywood movies at a rate affordable to a common man. The market is
very developed, however it is not as big, but it is organised. The lights of the city can be
seen in the night as the market provides a magnificent view. If you are visiting Sagar,

don't forget to taste the famous Mangauri. The tea shop at the radha market, near
railway station, offers you a great taste of tea. However, exploring the city on foot is
difficult and tiring as the whole city is on hills, but if you want to have the maximum here,
it is recommended.
Behavior of people
The evening in Civil Lines is crowded by the foot stalls selling Mangoris, Samosas,
chats, Gol gappas, Kachori with a yummy chutney. People usually have a culture of
having a plate full of mangoris. In summers temporary fresh fruit juice stalls are also set
up coupled with roadside sugarcane juice trolleys, the small glasses costs around Rs 5
while the bigger ones are 10. The most famous Bakery is Kanha Bakers, Makroniya.
Varun Smriti Udyaan is a very nice greenery park, a place for eco-outing. Civil Lines
market tends to be a little expensive while the same things in Katra market is quite
cheaper. The Cine City is a new movie hall, in Makroniya with all the modern amenities
but no where in this town would one find a movie hall where English movies are shown.
Cantonment Shopping Mall has come up in Civil Lines which is proposed to be a good
shopping centre. Sagar has an excellent market of Gold, Silver and other precious
stones in Bada Bazar, Katra. Lentils and vegetables are cheaper here while the
electronic stuffs are little expensive. The biggest wholesale vegetable market is Sabzi
Mandi located near Katra. Good Scientific shops exists at Sagar. This is mainly a
vegetarian town with lot of good restaurants cooking vegetarian food. The most famous
ones are Hotel Deepali, Hotel Paradise, Happinezz, Hotel Kanchi, Hotel Vardaan,
Majestic Plaza (offering take away service only), but Hotel Deepak (civil lines), Vandana
(Katra) and Khana Khazana (near MES IB) offers non-veg as well.

with full confidence.
They believe that self-awareness and the ability to continually reflect on one's own personal
dynamics are critical to the development of effective professional skills. Towards this aim,
trainees may be asked to engage in a process of personal exploration with their supervisors
and trainers. In this process, mentors will encourage trainees to discuss and reflect upon how
their experiences, personal qualities, and interpersonal dynamics related to their professional
functioning. Mentors take care to create a training relationship characterized by trust, safety,
and respect. They also take care to differentiate between training and supervision. As such,
the focus of the discussion is always directly related to the trainees professional functioning
and development. The training process includes the following steps
Market / Industry analysis - Before they conceptualize a specialized training program
they first familiarize ourselves with the industry challenges and shortcomings in terms
of skilled human resources. Unless they do this they won't be able fit the talents

Vocational Education in IndiaVocational educational in India aims to develop skilled manpower through diversified courses to
meet the requirements of mainly the unorganised sector and to instill self-employment skills in
people through a large number of self employment oriented courses. Vocational education is
imparted through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and polytechnics.
One of the weaknesses of Indian education system is that it does not gives due importance to
vocational education. As a result there is a mismatch between the skilled manpower required and
skilled manpower available. Every year we churn out millions of graduates who do not have the
specific skill sets required by the market. If this trend continues it would hurt our economic growth
in the long run. To change this situation first we need to change our mindset. In India, people are
obsessed with attaining a graduation degree and generally look down upon vocational education.
This has resulted in a situation where on the one hand there are scores of unemployed graduates
and on the other hand there is a huge shortage of skilled workers such as plumbers, electricians etc.
To rectify this situation vocational training programs in India need to be promoted in a big way.
Vocational training courses include: Typewriting
Stenography Secretarial Practices
