Our NetworkMalta’s first mobile network operator

The very first mobile call was made on the Vodafone

Malta network nearly 20 years ago; the first GSM call

was made in 1997.

During August 2006, we were the first mobile

network operator to deploy 3G followed by the

launch of HSDPA for high speed data transmission in

December 2006.

In June 2007, Vodafone Malta launched fixed

broadband based on WiMax technologies.

In October 2007, we announced that through an

exclusive partnership with Aspider Solutions, we will

be able to support Multiple MVNOs.

Vodafone Malta’s international gateway spans

approx. 250km between Malta and Catania carrying

three main types of traffic; Internet, Voice and Data.

Voice Mail

Voice Mail allows you to receive up to 30 messages of 120 seconds each. You can access these messages from your mobile, Vodafone also notifies you of any new messages by sending you an SMS with the number of the caller and if you wish, it could also call you.

Call diverts

Call Divert lets you direct incoming calls to another number – ideal if you want a friend or colleague to handle your calls without actually giving them your mobile. This service is free for all pay monthly Vodafone Customers.
