TECHNICAL FEATURES

METAL TO METAL SEALThe high contact pressure in the seal area is reinforced by the internal shoulder.

POSITION OF SEAL AREAThe distance from the pin face provides improved protection against transport, handling and – most of all – installation damages.

CLEARANCEThe recess before and after the seal area is a lubricant reservoir where excess thread compound is forced to prevent a pressure build up due to trapped and compressed thread compound.

SMOOTH INTERNAL PROFILEThe internal flush profile minimizes turbulences.

OPTIMIZED DESIGNThe thread design allows easy and fast make-up in the most severe conditions. The thread is designed to meet ISO 13679/API5C5, CAL IV.

TENSILE EFFICIENCYThe tensile efficiency is 100% (equal to the pipe body).

RUNNING PROCEDUREClean and dry the connection. Visually inspect

the seal area and shoulder for damage (lightly

run your finger over the seal area and shoulder

to detect any irregularities). Repair is only

permissible as shown in the detailed running

procedure. Apply a thin film of thread compound

to the pin and box threads including the seal area.

For stabbing use a stabbing guide and start

make-up by hand before using the make-up

tong. Once the torque increases shift to low

gear (max 5 rpm) until final torque is reached.

The triangle stamp should be used

for equipment set-up check only.
