about the chorusVoices of Gotham is an award-winning men’s a cappella group based in New York City, comprised of more than sixty talented voices. Its members include professional actors and musicians, former college a cappella singers, and men who simply enjoy raising their voices in song. The chorus’ constantly evolving repertoire includes a mix of classical, barbershop, vocal jazz, doo-wop and contemporary a cappella selections. Voices of Gotham is a proud chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the largest a cappella musical organization in the world.
book the chorusVoices of Gotham performs regularly at storied venues including Madison Square Garden, Rockefeller Center and Symphony Space, and regularly volunteers their services at schools, assisted living facilities and community events to benefit the greater NYC community. VoG also performs on behalf of major corporations (including Brookfield Properties and Deloitte), and at international chorus competitions. selected performance highlights• Barbershop Harmony Society 75th Anniversary Concert and Live Webcast, featuring Ringmasters quartet. VoG organized and performed in this webcast, which was viewed live by an estimated 250,000 people in 35 countries. Promotional events included a performance on Good Morning America Live, the NBC Today Show, and a “Flash Mob” performance in Times Square.
• Star Spangled Banner performances for several major NYC sporting events including the Coaches Against Cancer College Basketball Benefit Tournament at Madison Square Garden
• Brookfield Properties Holiday Entertainment throughout December in various locations throughout New York City, including the World Financial Center Winter Garden
• Deloitte Fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS
• Harmony with Heart - a VoG initiative sponsored by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (Manhattan Community Arts Fund 2013), to perform for senior centers, women’s shelters, children’s hospitals and other underserved communities.
