  • Getting the Camera Reodf . . . with Every New FilmI S"iling the film speed - Turn the setting control (k) on the exposure meter (seepoge 4) to the leff or r ight unti l the f i lm speed f igure is opposite the block

    index mork on the oppropriote scole. For exomple, sei i t to 32, correspondingto 32 ASA; or lo 17, corresponding to 17 degrees DlN.I This f i lm speed sett ing is essentiol lo ensure correci exposures with the outomoticI exposure con l ro l .

    I tnserting the film - Press together the locking cotches (5) ond open thecomero bock. Push the f i lm reversing lever (2.|) to the left . The rewind knob(20) springs up; pul l i t out ful ly (see i l lustrot ion l l l ) .Push the beginn ing of the f i lm in to the s l i t o f the toke-up spool ond onchorit to the hook (24 ond 28) by o perforot ion hole. Drow the cosseite ocross thefi lm trock,insert in the cossette chomber,o.nd ful ly push bock the rewind knob.The rewind shoft (25) must engoge the centre spool of ihe cossette, ond ihesprocket of the ironsport shoft (27) should engoge the f i lm perforot ion (seei l lustrot ion lV).   • Aperlure clnd Depth of FieldThe depth of f ield zone depends on the operture sett ing, ond covers thot poriof the subiect qreo in front of, ond behind, the focused distonce, which isreproduced on ihe f i lm with occeptoble shorpness. Note thot:

    lorge operlures (e. g.t2.8) yield limited deprh of field;smoll opertures (e. g. fil6) yield greoter depth of field.

    Reoding off the depth of field - After seiting the distonce, hold ihe comeroin such o wqy thot you con see lhe operture f igures on the depth of f ieldscole (2) oi lhe some t ime os the distonce scole ( l) . The depth of f ield zonenow extends from lhe distqnce f igure obove ony given left-hond operturenumber to the distonce f igure obove the corresponding operture number tothe right of the A mork.

This iensions ihe shutter,odvonces the f i lm, ond odvonces the f i lm counter. An outomotic lock prevenisoperotion o second t ime before you hove mode on exposure. Also, you cononly releose ihe shutier of ier working the ropid winding lever.- 8 -

  • Unloading the Comero . . . ofter ihe losf Exposure

    I Rewinding ond removing rhe film - Push the reversing lever to the teft, teilingthe rewind knob iump up. Turn the knob in the direci ion of the orrow unti lthe I or the O mork reoppeqrs in the f i lm counter window. Then open lhecomero bock, ful ly pul l out the rewind knob, ond remove ihe cossette.

    Changing Partly Exposed FilmsWith the VITO CD you con olwoys remove o pori ly exposed f i lm in the middleond chonge i t for onother one (for instonce to switch over from blqck-qnd-white fo colour f i lm).

    I Remember - or, bei ler st i l l , moke o nole of - the number of the lost exposed frome,' ond rewind the port ly exposed f i lm into i ts cossette. When relooding this f i lm loter on,proceed os olreody described up to the point of sett ing the f i lm counter to the I mork.Then press the re leose, le t go , p ress down ogo in , ond ho ld i t down in th is pos i t ion .Keep on pu l l ing ou t the rop id w ind ing lever os fo r os i t w i l l qo , un t i l the f i lm counterogoin indicoles lhe number of lhe frome you noted before. Now let go of the releose,work the rop id w ind ing lever once more , ond cor ry on shoot ing .

Do nol, however, use the self-timer withthe shutter set to B.

    Synchronized Flash ShofsSmoll l ight-weight f losh guns con be mounted direct ly in the occessory shoeon top of the comero. Lorger guns or the lomp holders of electronic f loshunits qre generol ly mounted to one side of the comero with o speciol brocket.The f losh coble completes the electr ic circuit ; i t plugs into the f losh socket(, |1) on ihe shutter.The shu i te r hos on ly one synchron iz ing se t t ing : X .
