With the holidays, there are so many things to do...
...charity events, parties, shopping, festivals, and church services to name a few.Be it giving to a member charity – which shouldn’t be a rarity.
Using a member to provide treats for your party – you’ll seem like a real smarty. Our members have the perfect gifts – to give your loved one’s heart a lift.If local festivals sound like fun – our calendar can help find the right one.
Are worship services part of the plan – our member churches can lend you a hand. And don’t forget if you need to ship – our members can help you get it there in a blip.
These are only some ideas, it’s true, just please remember that the Chamber is here to help you.Visit the on-line member directory and update your listing, check out the calendar so you won’t
be missing, or give the office a call as we would love to help you most of all!
We are feeling in the holiday spirit, are YOU?

President’s MessageGreetings Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce,
Well, we are in December and my time is almost complete. On January 1st, Dr. Bryan Thatcher will take the reins as your 2016 President. My time has been great, very busy, very full, and very “Interesting”.
We have gone from Golf Tournament to Trick or Treat Street, Ground breakings to Ribbon Cuttings adding many many new members and returning members. The year was very successful for the chamber and I am proud to be a part of it.
In leaving, I’d like to encourage everyone to continue to seek out your passion. Look for those things that mean a great deal to you, get behind your beliefs, and share your passion.
Remember during this time of the year to “Shop Local” and do business with fellow chamber members.
I’d like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
God Bless You and God Bless AmericaYour 2015 Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce President,
Jennifer Caskey

I have been a reverse mortgage consultant for more than 8 years and have developed extensive contacts in the elder care market. I have also attended 9 elder law forums which allows me to be a complete resource for you, your family members, and your clients for anything pertaining to elder care. Happy to meet with anyone to discuss the many ways a reverse mortgage can improve the finances of our senior population and also provide information on Medicare, Medicaid, and veterans benefits. Thank you. Thank you very much.

What is a Guardian ad Litem (GAL)?
A Guardian ad Litem is a volunteer who has made a decision to speak up for a child(ren) in the dependency system (foster care). More than 3000 of abused, abandoned and neglected children are the subject of court proceedings each year in Hillsborough County. Their voices often go unheard and their best interests overlooked. A GAL is an adult member of the community who volunteers to become a part of a court program to represent the best interest of an assigned child(ren).
What exactly does a GAL do?
The Guardian ad Litem (GAL) represents the “best interests” of the child in a variety of ways. The first way is by gathering information. The GAL
independently conducts a thorough investigation on behalf of the child. Furthermore, the GAL serves as a monitor of the agencies and persons who
provide services to the child. The GAL assures that orders of the court are carried out, and that families and children in need receive the help that they should. The
GAL acts as a spokesperson for the child assuring that the child’s wishes are heard and that the best interests of the child are presented to the Court and agencies
dealing with the child.
What does it take to be a GAL and make a difference in the life of a child?
Our Program will prepare you and teach you everything you need to know! We provide you with GAL certification training. This is a three part training including: an independent study portion, classwork and hands-on training with an experienced
Guardian ad Litem. The independent study combines an on-line segment and readings; the classroom portion is now only 15 hours. The completion of the 15
hour training will then provisionally certify you so that you can be assigned a case and begin the field component under the guidance of a GAL mentor. With the help
of your mentor, you will learn and experience what it is like to be a GAL.
We have training classes scheduled in February.
Please give us a call to learn more about how you can make a difference in the life of a child! We look forward to hearing from you soon!
Please let us know if you have any family/friends that may be interested or if
you are part of a church or social organization where we could do a
presentation!

It is true;
Christopher P. Kazor, CICwww.nusurance.com
Florida has the highest property insurance rates in the country. Many times we have had to lower our coverage to meet
our budget. Budgeting your insurance is understandable, but, have you ever sat down with an agent reviewed the
coverage and asked:
If my home or business were destroyed, how much would be paid for a total loss? Would my current coverage pay
100% of a partial loss? What about my personal or business property? Will it be paid on a replacement cost basis? What
about my collectibles? Is there any money for me to relocate temporally? If so how much? Do I have business income
insurance? If I do how will the loss of business income be paid?
In the 90s and the early in this century, Florida had been slammed with disasters, and many of us have cut our
coverage to meet our budgets but have not looked at your policy for years. Unfortunately, this is causing many folks
are not getting what they thought they would get in the insurance adjustment.
Let us take a look, in person, by phone or video conference.
In Tampa, call me direct at 813 514 6982 or toll-free 800 604 7249 Ext 4.
