This Bible study in small groups offers a great, relaxed way of looking at some life changing truths about God and his amazing love. The book of the Bible being studied is Philippians. Parents and friends, effective Monday you must have a current 2014-2015 Volunteer Screening submitted in order to be involved with students in face to face activities. Auxiliary Meeting Well Attended: For those parents who attended the Auxiliary meeting yesterday morning, thank you so much! We had a great turn out! I find it so wonderful that we have so many parents who wish to step up and volunteer their time and energy toward making our school the best it can be. Please Consider Participation in Excellent to Exceptional – We are once again organizing our Annual School Gift Campaign. This year we have a “$50,000 matching opportunity.” You will be receiving information through the U.S. Mail in two weeks. Please look for it and consider offering your support for this campaign. It benefits our school in so many ways. This campaign is focused on supporting our school and helping us become even better! Gifts may be designated for Current School Year Enhancements OR for the St. John’s Lutheran School Endowment Fund. We are truly blessed by God with a wonderful school and are so excited about equipping our students to serve Him both now and in the future. Join us in this effort to move our school from Excellent to Exceptional!! ITBS Standardized Testing Oct. 6-17: Parents, I am hoping that by giving advance notice like this, everyone will respect the importance of student attendance during ITBS testing. Please note these dates and refrain from having your child miss school unless because of illness. Please schedule appointments, etc. at another time. ALSO – please be on time for school. Thank you! SHARE with our community by serving at the water station on our campus or you can CONNECT with others by registering for the 5K as a runner or walker! Come & enjoy a fun-filled Fall evening with us at St. John’s Senne Field from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 26th. St. John’s families with children ages 3-9, and their friends are invited! Activities include: trunk-or-treating, carnival games, a hot dog dinner, cake walk, live praise music, bounce houses, and a pumpkin for all children 9 and under! $5 per person includes dinner. Food choices range from bratwurst to pizza to funnel cakes. Live entertainment will include music from country punk group The Altar Billies, 80s cover band Knyght Ryder, rock trio The Bash Dogs, Orange Lutheran praise band Unlimited Warranty, and more. Boutique shopping, with more than 15 vendors, will also be available to those in attendance. Fall Fest will run from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the school’s campus. Admission is FREE! SEE ATTACHED FLYER! SPEECH /LANGUAGE SCREENING - Articulation, language and comprehension are all critical factors that contribute to your child’s school success. For several years now, St. John’s has partnered with Language 2 Literacy to provide speech and language remediation for our students. Jill D’Braunstein, M.A. CCC-SLP, will conduct a brief speech-language, comprehension and hearing screening for school children on Monday October 21st on the campus at St. John’s Lutheran School during the school day. The cost is $25 per child. If you would like to have your child screened for speech or comprehension issues, please complete the attached form and return this form to your child’s teacher, no later than Wednesday, October 15th.
