DID YOU KNOW... that a dirty roof can actually raise your energy bill? The darker a roof gets, the more your air conditioning needs to work to keep the interior of your home at a constant temperature. With all of the rain, roofs tend to build up mildew. Keeping your roof clean not only saves you money on your energy bill, but will also reduce your impact on the environment by using less energy. The Code Compliance office would like to remind you to please ensure your roof is clean and free of mildew!

Estate Planning 101: “From Legalities to Legacies” - Hosted by David Treece and Attorney Laura Bourne Burkhalter. No matter what your economic or marital status is, estate planning is something everyone needs to address. Regulations are complicated and tax rules are constantly changing, but the need to have key documents ready and plans in place are a constant. RSVP online at treecefinancial.com/events or call 305-751-8855. Thursday, November 14, 6:15 - 8 PM.

Local Author Event with Professor Lee Williams! Presentation on his circular novel, “Memoirs of a Thin Man”: Learn the challenges of writing a circular novel (a novel that can be commenced on any page), how the book’s palindromic format mimics its binary-smashing content; and his experience living in the iconic Palacio Salvo in Montevideo, where much of the novel’s action takes place. Copies will be available for sale and signing. Monday, November 18, 6:30 PM.

The Village could have easily chosen the property based on the home itself, but the main attraction of the home is the castle-like landscaping! The property’s landscape is what really sets the house apart from the rest. The time and care to make sure the landscape stays this beautiful takes countless hours, labor and creativity. The design and layout of the bushes and hedges were created by their very own “in house” Landscape Designer, Stanley Matz. We take great pride in calling the Matz family part of the Miami Shores Village community.

Thank you Matz family for making The Village Beautiful!
