    OULD it be true

that Robin Padillais going back toABS-CBN and will do asoap with Kris Aquino, while Aga Muhlach ismoving to GMA 7? Thatsquite a fair exchange oftwo major stars. Whichnetwork will benefit morefrom the trade?

    * * *The talent show craze is on.

ABS-CBN 2 is launching Show-time, which will be hosted byVhong Navarro and Anne Cur-

Stop, Talk & Listen (on CignalTVs Viva Cinema Channel),

when singer Alynna,Hajji Alejandros long-time (and much

    younger) girlfriend, said

she still loved Hajji butwas no longer in love withhim. Sadness was written allover her face. Like every girl, Idream of being a bride, Alyn-na sighed. Too bad Hajji

wont marry me ... cause hehas been married twice? When I asked him about it,sabi niya, What for?

Kolehiyala now has a kilabotfor marriage? Maybe Alynnaand Hajji ought to rekindletheir romance by doing some-thing theyve never done beforeas a couple. Love is a terriblething to waste.

    * * *Roselle Nava is set to marry

her boyfriend of nine years,Allen Ford Tan, on Jan. 17,2010 at the Manila Cathedral. They want an intimate wed-ding, not a show biz event.

habitus insist that the instruc-tor, and not Aljur Abrenica, isKris real boyfriend. Or could itbe a case of mistaken identity? Is Kris heart in better shape

with the fitness buff or with

buffed Aljur? Aljurs real girl-friend is said to be Rich Asun-cion. So is the Kris-Aljur loveteam actually a love scheme?

    * * *I am excited for Marian

Rivera. Not only is her career infull swing, she has alsoventured into her own

business. Who wouldvethought it would be re-al estate?

Marian was chosento be the endorser for

SM Residences. Shebought her own units at

Berkeley Residences. She real-izes the fact that its importantfor celebs to invest becauseshow biz doesnt guarantee alifetime of fame and success.Weve heard too many storiesproving that. Will DingdongDantes be Marians man of thehouse anytime soon?

    Guess list

This TV personality is amillion times richer, not be-cause of his show and endorse-ments, but mainly due to his se-cret recruiting racket. A showbiz insider squealed on him:He gives performers on hisshow a certification that theyappeared on his show, plus atape of their appearance so theycan submit it to any foreign em-bassy and be hired as entertain-ers abroad. The performers pay

him a hefty amount for it andhe gets commission from theirearnings overseas. OFW in his

vocabulary means Overseas-Fi-nanced Way of life!

This actress staged the dis-aster that happened to her andher family. Another actress

whos in the know revealed:Sinadya niya yung kalamidadna nangyari sa kanila paramakaiwas sa utang atmakakuha ng pera sa insur-ance. Force majeure a la showbiz!

Since her parents are quitestrict, Allen and Roselle havenever taken a trip together. Sofor their honeymoon, they planto go to Hong Kong and Macau. No trip, though, could evercompare to the adventurecalled marriage.

    * * *Ryan Agoncillos cool man-ager, Noel Ferrer, told metheres no truth to the rumorthat Judy Ann Santos is infan-ticipating. I guess Ryan and Ju-day are still enjoying the hon-eymoon stage so much, theyrein no rush to get to the nextstage of married life.

Rizal fable caps 100th Read AlongBy Kate V. Pedroso

    Inquirer Research

TIME does fly when youreenjoying timeless tales.

The award-winning INQUIRERRead-Along held its 100th ses-sion on Saturday, marking morethan two years of promoting thelove of reading among the

    young through colorful, interac-tive storytelling.

Show biz idol and guest sto-ryteller Richard Gomez openedthe program which gatheredaround 40 schoolchildren at themultipurpose hall of the INQUIR-ERs main office in Makati City.

Goma was also joined by agroup of play-actors composed ofpupils and teachers from SophiaSchool in Meycauayan, Bulacan.

The actor-TV host read outSina Linggit Laban Kay Baraku-da, which told of how a schoolof tiny fish banded together toovercome a huge problem.

The underwater adventurewas retold for Filipino readersby Tom Agulto and Rene O. Vil-lanueva and published by thePhilippine Childrens TelevisionFoundation and Cacho Publish-ing House.

Sophia students JackielynRuiz, Dominique Sarza, JasperRegoso, Joseph Urian and

Alyssa Bularan and teacherDhang Bernabe starred in a skitto narrate The Boy with an Or-ange Robe, a story about Cham-long Srimuang, a Thai activist

and politician.Chamlong is the 1992 Ra-

mon Magsaysay awardee forgovernment service. His storyappears in the RamonMagsaysay Award Foundationschildrens book series, Great

Men and Women of Asia.To cap the session, Sophia

School principal Ann Abacanled a musical rendition of Si

Pagong at si Matsing (The Turtle

and the Monkey), a fable origi-nally penned by the countrysnational hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.

The performance was basedon a version by National Artist

Virgilio Almario and publishedby Adarna House. TeachersNerry Denilla and Bernabe act-ed out the animal characters.

As part of its educationaltour, the Sophia School troupe

will also perform the stories be-fore students of the SamroiyodWittayakhom School inPrachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand,

in the first week of November. For added fun and to keep the

children in rapt attention, Gomezplayed multiple characters andspoke in different voices.

I enjoyed reading for thekids, he later said in an inter-

view. I have had a bit of expe-rience in that department be-cause I used to read to mydaughter Juliana and have of-ten been invited as a storyteller

to some schools. The children today were

very receptive, Gomez noted. They were really focused andthey seemed to enjoy the story.

I find programs like theRead-Along very helpful. Read-

ing is like food for the brain. Itis a very interesting way ofteaching and it would be nice ifmore children would have ac-cess to reading (materials).

    The next session is scheduled

for Nov. 14. Interested partici-pants may call Ellen Caparros at897-8808 loc 329. Slots areavailable on a first-come, first-served basis.
