It is very saddening to know that BibiGurmit Kaur Bhatia, Matriarch of theBhatia family, left for her heavenlyabode on February 06, 2018.

Bibi Gurmit Kaur born in Indiaon April 02, 1929 lived a very long,abundant and a full life. She immi-grated to America along with her hus-band, Mr. Rattan Singh Bhatia andher children in 1979 to join her hus-band's brother; Mr. Hukam SinghBhatia.She is survived by a large anda blossoming family of 10 children,44 grandchildren and 21 great grand-children. By dint of hard work BibiGurmit Kaur's family, starting from avery humble beginning, rose to be avery prosperous and a God blessedfamily in the community with a spir-ited dedication to the establishmentand running of our Guru Ghar in Pitts-burg,California.

Recitation of Path SukhmaniSahib and Ardass by Giani GurnamSingh were held for peace and tran-quility of the departed soul.

Besides the entire family, astream of mourners attended her fu-neral services held on February 10,2018 in Hull's Walnut Creek Chapel.

Mr. O.P. Balley 'Founder Mem-ber of Sri Guru Ravidass Temple,Pittsburg (California), well versedwith the life of the deceased, ran theproceedings of her funeral services atthe chapel and eulogized her life'slegacy. Other prominent members ofthe community who paid their trib-utes to the memory of the deceasedincluded her son Mr. Kashmiri Bhatiaaccompanied by his wife Mrs. Ka-maljit Bhatia, her daughter-in -law,Mrs. Gina Bhatia, her son, Mr. SomNath Bhatia and daughter Mrs. Rani

Narabat with her husband Mr. Shin-der Pal Narabat. All the 44 grandchil-dren made a group appearance toshare their sweet memories of theirgrandmother. Dr. Harmesh Kumar andMr. Vinod Chumber prominent mem-bers of the community also paid theirrespectful homage to Bibi GurmitKaur. Mr. Prem Kumar Chumber, ChiefEditor: Ambedkar Times and DeshDoaba provided a pictorial and jour-nalistic coverage to the entire pro-ceedings of the event. Aftercremation services at the Chapel, re-ligious services ending with Bhog cer-emony of Sehaj Path, were also heldat the temple in Pittsburg followed byShabad Kirtan and Antim Ardass.

Bibi Gurmit Kaur, like her latehusband Mr. Rattan Singh Bhatia,liked to live an independent life withleast possible dependence on the

family. In pursuit of her strong willand determination to equip herself toovercome any personal limitationsshe regularly attended Educationclasses in County Adult school andbecame a U.S Citizen on her ownmerits. She even gained the ability tomanage her own Bank Accounts. Thisearned her a lot of self-respect, dig-nity leading to a rich and a lastinglegacy in the years to come.

Some video clips of her sweetmemories of yesteryears were alsoshown by her grandchildren to San-gat during the services. We againoffer our heartfelt condolences onthis irreparable loss to the bereavedfamily with prayers to Akalpurkh tobestow peace and tranquility uponthe departed soul. - Mr. O.P. Balley

Mr. Mohinder Pal Narabut left for heavenly abodeMr. Mohinder Pal Narabut, AbhishekPal Narabut's father and Shinder PalNarabut's elder brother left for heav-enly abode on February 8, 2018 atJohn Muir Hospital in Concord afterbattling for his life with an exemplarycourage.Mr. Mohinder Pal was born inSarhalQazian, Jalandhar, Punjab inIndia on April 10, 1950. He retiredas a Senior-manager from SyndicateBank in Chandigarh. He was an hon-est person with a pleasing personalityand friendly nature. He was a naturelover and followed an active lifestyle.He was a pioneer of the NARABUTfamily. He worked hard to educate hischildren and give his family a distin-guished life style.

He is survived by his motherMata Swarni Narabut, wife Kam-laRani, his son Abhishek Pal Narabut(who has served as General Secretaryof Sri Guru Ravidass Temple), daugh-ter in law Navdeep Kaur, daughtersSwati Pal and Shivika, granddaugh-

ters Ayesha Pal and Liyana Pal, broth-ers Kashmir Lal Narabut and ShinderPal Narabut(Ex-Chairmanof Sri GuruRavidass Tem-ple), sistersR e s h m o ,Joginder Kaurand AmarjitKaur. He hadvery strongfamily valuesand wasdeeply at-tached to hisroots. He wentback to Indialast year forhis his daugh-ter Swati'smarriage toManish Sawal.He came back from India with hiswife to be with his son in December2017.

He survived a deadly nervousbreakdown in 1995 and again a major

attack in 2008which affectedhis memory.He fought theheroic battletwice but thistime he left usto unite withthe Almightyafter an honor-able fight at1:50 PM onFebruary 8,2018. Till thelast momenthe stayedstrong. Everyperson whoso-ever ever knewhim or wasaround him,

prayed for his wellbeing. We all hadthe hope that he will come home soon.

His Funeral services will be onWednesday, February 14, 2018 at09:30 am at the Pittsburg FuneralChapel, 2295 Railroad Ave, PittsburgCA 94565.

Cremation services followingat Oakview Memorial Park 2500 E.18th St., Antioch, Ca 94509 at12:45 PM Final ARDAS and Guru KaLangar will be at Gurughar, 2150Crestview Drive, Pittsburg CA, afterthe funeral.
